Not really good enough!
Room carpet was filthy, published room service and restaurant hours not adhered to early closing. The room and bar published a Western menu but only Chinese food is served. Just the place to visit if you want to spend your time on business both hungry and with dirty feet.

Good hotel, bad service
I stayed in Signature Deluxe on Level 21. Pros: nice view, well presented, very good house keeping service, close to big shopping precinct. Cons: sink blocked, toilet needs 2 flushes to complete, horrendous attitude towards customer especially room service (I called 3 times, only once they were open or willing to help).

Close to major shopping center
The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk to Wanda Plaza and other shopping centers with food courts and restaurants nearby. The room I had was on the 17th floor with the view of Wujiaochang Shopping Center. The night view was very pretty. However the room was rather small wirh very dark lights, though it was clean. There was no bathtub, only a shower stall. The hallways leading to the rooms were also very dark. The staff was professional but not too friendly. They only smile to each other but seldom to their customers. It would not have stayed there if it wasn't for the low cost.

Pleasant surprise
We booked two nights in the cheapest room, but upon checking in seemed to be almost a studio--nice surprise. The room had a small sink, fridge, coffee-making area, a small sitting area with a sofa, desk and TV, the bed and a nice updated bathroom. The sofa was a little shabby and the bathroom was a funny triangular shape, but overall I was pleased and a little impressed by the room. On the hotel description, the free breakfast was not mentioned as far as I recall. Very nice buffet with Western and Chinese choices. Also there was wifi in the room--another surprise. Overall I was very pleased with our stay and thought it was better than the hotel description led me to believe. I'd happily stay here again.

OK for the price
Having booked a Queen Suite, the room was well appointed, but the condition of the carpets and upholstery were a disgrace. There are no smoking signs throughout the hotel, which are largely ignored, and getting in the lift after a smoker is just awful. Room service was excellent, as most of the time the restaurant was too busy to use. Having used Holiday Inn on my last visit to Shanghai, I will be going back there next visit. My Ramadas high standards this was a poor experience.

Great Hotel but beware the cost of the lobby bar!
Very reasonable hotel that has been maintained well with updated rooms and suites available for only slightly more money. The rugs showed some wear and tear but otherwise a very, very nice place to stay. The floors are not so large and the rooms are close to the elevator. Nice views of the city and university. My only complaint about the hotel was the crazy prices they charged for the lobby bar. Additionally the night barmaid spoke almost no English and when a customer ordered white wine, she poured it into a shot measure and gave him a shot of wine... you would expect Ramada to have slightly better trained staff especially behind the bar.

Will for sure book it again
The location was a bit outside of the centre but it meant easier to get hold of taxi and not so much noise and traffic. The hotel staff were very helpful and even though their English was not that good they did help us with booking tours, taxis etc. Tyr room was clean and the breakfast was very good and had many vegetarian choices which was great as I am vegetarian.

Weird, basichotel
Locatioin is mediocre, the distance to public transport is slightly over 1 km, and that's where you'll be going. Being next to a big road (Huangzing Lu) has its sides, getting a taxi is easy but getting to the other side not so. The service in the hotel is weird. Not all of the staff speaks English, although that causes only minor issues. There were just so many minor details disregarded that the overall impression is perplexing. I had a suite, which was spacious and in good condition. however, most of the space was just wasted, furniture was equal to everything else. I'd go there again if I had business very close by, for other reasons, stay out.

Ramada Hotel in Shanghai
I traveled to Shanghai on a whim, without knowing any Mandarin or Chinese characters. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff were fluent in English and helpful as I checked in. The hotel is very similar to a high quality American hotel in terms of appearance, amenities, and service. It is also located in a busy shopping district with a number of boutiques and restaurants within walking distance. The staff allowed me to continue my stay and I felt that the security was more than adequate. I also ate at the restaurant multiple times and the food did not cost a lot, but was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for foreigners who have not traveled in China before.

Great hotel for its price
I loved our stay in Ramada because it wasn't heavy on the budget but the hotel was nice. Rooms are not that big but were well-furnished, and most of the staff are easy to talk to. I wish the breakfast buffet though had more choices. But over-all I would recommend this hotel because it is nice and at the same time not expensive.

Nice accommodations close to Fudan University
This hotel is about a 20-30 min walk from Fudan and close to 2 metro stops. Great for a visit to the university. Free Internet in the lobby.

Prepare yourself for long taxi cab rides to anything interesting or good...
The hotel was clean, and that's a big part of the service when you travel, however, the cleaning staff door was fairly close to my room, and they were constantly slamming it -- at 7AM on a Sunday morning until 5 or 6 in the evening. My hours are not typical, and I really didn't appreciate the slamming door, or the fights that seemed to erupt between 3 of the cleaning staff. I think that's rude to be loud late at night or early in the morning. Also, the bartender at the bar in the lobby bordered on rude, and was not helpful or friendly and included a fairly large service charge even there was only one of me (and I am from New York and usually tip 20-25% on cocktails. She deserved zero, but I wasn't given the option. Finally the hotel was quite removed from the Bund, and the tourist areas of the City: The savings from the hotels lower costs was spent on the 3 or 4 taxis I had to take each day. This location needs a review.
