This is an excellent value. The staff could not be more considerate or accommodating. They helped us find a restaurant that could take us a fairly late hour and made a reservation. The property appears to be very new so everything was in excellent condition. Breakfast was good value. There is an expansive sitting area with tables on the check-in lobby floor which provided a convenient place for guests to eat their takeout dinners or play games. It promoted a shared experience for guests which is rare these days. Highly recommend it.
This is the best hotel I stayed during my trip to Japan. It’s located in the heart of the city and got dining shopping and dining options, as well as easy transportation. Not sure why this is a 3 star hotel to me is 3-star does not do its justice. Plus, pricing is fair and affordable. Highly recommended.
Location was amazing! It was also a nice touch to offer complimentary saki in the afternoon and coffee in the morning (though offering tea would’ve been nice as well). The biggest thing missing was there were no water refill stations so it was not eco-friendly to have to keep getting water bottles
Excellent. Truly great value for money. Easy to send luggage on to the next hotel. We also received our luggage from previous hotel- helpful note was placed under the door to say our luggage had arrived.
All staff were very helpful, and pleasant. Everything was so clean! The matcha from the machine in the lobby is of good quality. Nishiki Market is super close, the metro is not far- and taxi ranks are outside the hotel if you need them.
Good breakfast with both European and Asian choices. Location is fantastic for a visit to Kyoto and everything nearby. We used it as our hub for a week and it was great. Good to have fridge, shower, bath and clean room. Coffee machine, and hot chocolate machine in the lobby and free sake service in the evening.
Only thing, but this is a preference thing, was that the beds are pretty hard. We had also booked for 2 adults and 2 kids and only got 3 beds so our 11 yr old had to sleep in the big bed. Worked out ok but was not specified.
The best feature of this hotel is the location. So many sites in Kyoto are a walk or short bus ride away. There were plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance too. The staff were not friendly but we're efficient. The dining/lounge area could have been kept a bit tidier (some guests were surprisingly messy dropping trash at will - not at all the fault of the hotel, but because picking it up was slow, the hotel at times seemed almost hostel-like). There was also a strange scent being pumped in the air. I believe it was called "Earl Grey". It smelled awful. It wasn't great being greeted by such a pungent odor every time we'd arrive back from a long day of site seeing.
Loved the location, very central and walkable to many places. Nishiki market is just 5 mins away on foot. We also enjoyed access to the underground subway passage which was great during the hot summer days.
