It is only 40 miles east of Marquette, which is the U.P.’s biggest town. With a population of just over 2,500, it has a small-town charm but bustles with many activities throughout the year. Munising is the best place to hike with over 15 waterfalls located around town, with most being an easy ability level because paved trails and wood walkways.
