We have been coming to Farmstead for some time now and always had a great experience, but last night was different.The staff appeared to be unwelcoming from the beginning. We were told immediately upon untry to keep our kids from running on property. Later in the night we and two other families with kids were disturbed by staff who came to our table complaining with minor infractions. The approach was rather dramatic and rude judging by raised tone of voice and somewhat tense stance. After shift changed another staff member immediately came up to us reminding of quaiet hours despite keeping our voices low as possible. Before midnight ( New Year) one lady was laughing and was approached by staff saying that she could not laugh...the lady literally started crying in disbelief. She said that she has been coming to Farmstead for some time but was never treated like that. It is worth to mention that facility was pretty occupied with lots of families with children. I did not see the staff coming up to other families in such a way which made me think that they simply did not like us for whatever reason. Another issue is that the hotel is pretty expensive but has not been updated. Tiles are cracked, lots of caulk around gaps,and old floors in rooms; fireplace was out. No entertainment in common areas like tv, lounge, or gaming. We and the two other families are completely disappointed with such an always welcoming staff. Ww won't stay there ever again.

One night stay for a short visit to Shipshewanna. Large but no-frills room. Hotel offers lots of amenities and is walking distance to Blue Gate.

It was a lovely, comfortable hotel. The staff was amazing! Welcoming, warm and friendly. The common area was well appointed and comfortable. The rooms were clean. Two recliner chairs in the room was a very nice surprise and lovely to relax in.

We stay in Shipshewana a lot but this was our first time at the Farmstead. Check-in was quick and easy. We were located the last room before the breakfast buffet and pool and thought it might be noisy, but it wasn't. Very spacious room. The mattress was hard, so if you like a firm mattress, room 121 would be for you! Breakfast was a short hot buffet with a few items there, plus a full array of things like bread for toasting, bagels, cereal, waffle makers, pancake maker, muffins, milk, chocolate milk, coffee, etc, etc. Many options. We did not use the pool but did get in the hot tub one night. We were in town for a concert at the Blue Gate PAC and this hotel is about two buildings over to the north. Very convenient. Could walk it in good weather. We would definitely stay here again.

The room need some cosmetic updates. The bathroom was handicap accessible and the bar next to the toilet was glued back on, but still dangling. There were a couple of tiles missing on the exterior of the shower. Outlets for charging phones aren't easily reachable and they could be updated to be on the lamps. The rooms could use some color to them. Lastly, the smell of propane hits you the moment you step inside and permeates the whole lobby and surrounding area. On the positive side, the hotel looks cozy from the outside and the lobby area. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was central.to.most of the shopping and restaurants.

Met our children there to celebrate Christmas. Loved walking to town under the beautiful Christmas lights. The Grandkids enjoyed the pool,hot tub and being able to play basketball with Grandpa. Staff was very friendly and the whole experience helped us make wonderful memories.
