"Mariposa is located on the beautiful beach.The resort is very small and creates very cozy and private environment The resort is well maintained very close to local airport. They have little restaurant but we had rental car and explored local Placencia restaurants. The staff is very friendly. We booked treehouse but they have construction on the property grounds. The manager offered for us beachfront room that was quiet and far away from the construction site . We really appreciated the upgrade. We stayed in this resort for a second time and never been disappointed. Thank you all the staff and manger for awesome vocation. We will come back."

"What a beautiful resort. After coming from San Pedro this place was truly paradise. The staff is friendly and everyone is always willing to help. The restaurants are delicious. The concierge will book everything for you so please use them. Take some time to go to the gift shop and have some delicious pizza! The rooms are amazing just be careful with the mosquitos. I will definitely be back here. "

"Our room was lovely with ocean views and a large balcony. It was great to have the taxi pull up closer to the unit when we checked out, since it was a bit of a walk from the front desk. Close to the beach and lots of restaurants"

"Bird Island has been a dream vacation for us for a long time. And after years of looking at pictures and reading reviews online, it was almost surreal to step foot on the island for the first time. "I can't believe we're really here" went through my mind several times throughout the week. The entire experience was amazing! The logistics were smooth, from meetup to shopping to transportation - Leo handled it all in a professional and friendly manner. Fred and Ruth were there to welcome us upon arrival and the hand off went off without a hitch. The island itself is a dream! This is not a five star luxury resort, so don't expect that sort of experience. This is something different - an island getaway where you are isolated, free, and truly at one with the ocean and nature around you. Snorkeling, kayaking, and fishing are second to none. At night the sky lit up with stars in a way that you just don't experience in city life. Of course I have to give a nod to Thurman who gave us an amazing experience and made sure we had enough fish to eat for the whole week! All in all it was a dream come true, and an adventure that I will treasure for the rest of my life."
