As others have reviewed the place needs updating/ renovating. The next doors sounds comes through into my room so are hallway sounds. Breakfast was good, location is fantastic, staff is amazing (all of them)!

I choose to stay here due to the location for the start of a local cycling event I was taking part in on the Sunday morning. When I checked in I was told breakfast was from 8am. I told the reception I had to leave about 6.45am. I was told that a breakfast package would be provided & left for me in the lounge area fridge for the morning. When I went to bed at 10pm the noise from the television in the next room kept me awake until 00.45. It was then I banged on the wall for them to turn it off as I could not sleep. When I went down to the lounge area at 06.30 Sunday morning there was NO BREAKFAST Package in the fridge for me to take away. I tried the doors leading to the main part of the hotel & they were all locked along with the main enterance !! There was no way for me to check out or to ask reception for the breakfast package. I was then told by another guest that the area was not open until 08.00am. So I left for a 100km race with no breakfast & very little proper sleep as I was so stressed by the time I could sleep without the noise. On the plus side of things the hotel bar & eating area are very nice even though I did not get to use either. Lovey location in Holland

We were surprised that a 3star hotel in Friesland would be so uniquely the 70s in its authentic simplicity, cleanliness,good food and friendly service. There are even old fashioned Dutch games to play!

A nice family-run place to stay
No problems.. a old farmhouse with newer extension out back, it's the second time we've chosen to stay there.

Disappointing
From the outside the hotel looked good. Entering the hotel the restaurant was welcoming although it looked a little expensive. The single rooms that we had booked were an absolute disappointment. They resembled a prison cell. Although clean, the room had painted brick walls, a low divan bed with an upper bunk hidden behind curtains, a toilet without a lid, a depressing small shower and the heating was not on. No telephone even to call reception. Incredibly small too. I don't know what the original intention of the hotel was, but [perhaps it was for school kids on a cycling holiday. No good at all for older visitors. Not a room you wished to stay in. The original decor of the hotel public areas was full of character and the continental breakfast was really good. But the whole place had seen better days and desperately needed some new management cultures imposed!

I can’t vouch for the rest of the rooms but the one I stayed in was very dated and tired. Normally I would have given this hotel a low score based on the room but the rest of the hotel more than made up for this. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was excellent, the main hotel was wonderful and the grounds were lovely with several quiet wooded walks. I would definitely stay here again.

Mooi oud gebouw waar het hotel/restaurant in gevestigd is, kamer was wel gedateerd maar prima bedden. Wij hadden een kamer met serre, daar kon je lekker even zitten met uitzicht in het bos.

De naam van het hotel doet de staat van het hotel eer aan.. het komt uit 1970 net als de gehele inboedel. De vieze kleine douche incl wasbak. 1 x 1.5 meter.. n nog kleinere wc. Super oude inrichting.. behang en tapijt stamt uit de jaren 30. Hadden het idee dat we in n ouderwetse kamer van n bejaardentehuis zaten. En het stikte van de spinnenrag en vliegend ongedierte..Dan nog het ontbijt. Ik snap dat in corona tijd de ontbijtjes anders zijn in hotels.. maar dit sloeg alles.. ik.heb 2x 12.50 afgerekend voor 2oude bolletjes met oude ham en kaas die er al 3 dagen op zat,en n croissantje.. moesten zoeken naar iets van hagelslag voor mijn vriendin... en dat allemaal in n papieren tasje ...vraag dan 5 euro. dan maak je nog dikke winst en weet je als bezoeker (want gast voelde ik me niet) waar je aan toe bent.. ook was het super banauwd in de "bossuite" geen ijskastje of andere verkoeling behalve de kapotte waaier die vast bleef staan en de waaier die we gelukkig zelf hadden meegenomen. Nóóit zal ik dit "hotel" aanraden aan iemand en ook nooit meer bezoeken. We hadden beter in onze auto kunnen slapen.. dan hadden we ons comfortabeler gevoeld dan afgelopen zaterdag.. snap dat je nu iets wil verdienen.. maar hier iets mee verdienen is ronduit asociaal..

Dit hotel is duidelijk aan een opfrisbeurt toe en het is jammer want het heeft veel potentie :goede ligging ,zeer rustig en charme maar vergane glorie,muf en kleffige tapijt en zitmeubels .Het corona ontbijt was zeer matig van qualiteit,voorverpakte diepvries sompige broodjes.Waarom geen buffet op bestelling waar de gast op papier zijn ontbijt kan samenstellen zodat men dit kan serveren.

Dit kan echt niet meer!
Laat ik positief beginnen: de ontvangst was erg vriendelijk en we mochten onze auto 5 dagen bij het hotel parkeren tijdens onze 11-steden fietstocht. 'De Oorsprong' was dus ook het vijfde hotel waar we overnacht hebben en veruit het slechtste. We verbleven op een muffe kamer en overal waar je keek was alles oud en kapot, verf afgebladderd, deurpanelen los, behang los, elektra slecht verbonden, wel een leuke serre, maar banken met vieze vochtplekken erin en het glazen dak was enorm smerig. Het ergste: de thermostaatkraan van de douche had alleen de stand 'heet', of 'zeer heet'. De ventilatie was kapot, dus bij het douchen was heel de kamer meteen vochtig. Het diner was redelijk, maar de keuze was zeer beperkt. Het ontbijt was ver beneden peil. Een papieren tasje met voorgesmeerde broodjes uit de diepvries die je ook bij de benzinepomp haalt. Dat kan veel beter, ook al is het corona tijd. Dit hotel voldoet echt niet meer aan de hedendaagse standaard en is zwaar toe aan renovatie.De foto van de voorkant schept verwachtingen en de locatie is mooi. Er kan echter zoveel meer van gemaakt worden! Géén aanrader dit hotel, eigenlijk verdient het de naam 'hotel' niet; niet boeken dit gedrocht!

De 1-persoons kamer was klein. Er was een bed, tafel met tv, klerenkast, badcel met douche, wasbak en toilet. Koffie en thee kon gratis verkregen worden middels zelfbediening. De prijsstelling was prima voor deze kamer. Van de omgeving heb ik niets gezien omdat het zowel bij het inchecken als het uitchecken donker was

Unterkunft passt, Frühstück überteuert.
Das Gebäude hat den Charme einer Jugendherberge aus den 70ern. Betten sind bequem, aber alles mächtig in die Jahre gekommen. Preis Leistung für die Unterkunft passt aber. Die angekündigte tägliche Zimmerreinigung fand nicht statt. In der Dusche stand abends noch Wasser vom Morgen. Das Frühstück war okay, aber recht spartanisch und mit 11€ pro Person deutlich überteuert für das Angebot. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Personeel en keuken waren helemaal top. je kon wel zien dat het gebouw aan een opknapbeurt toe is. Zeer prettig verbleven. Ik zal (als dit aan de orde is) het hotel zeker aanbevelen.

Im Zimmer und in den Fluren roch es stark nach Raumspray. Schmutzige Fenster und Spinnenweben zeugen von der allgemeinen Ungepflegtheit. Kabel hingen herum und das ganze hatte eher die Anmutung einer Zelle. Das Frühstück war ok , aber für das Angebot zu teuer. Man kann aus einem alten Haus kein neues machen, aber etwas Pflege und Sauberkeit wirken oft Wunder. Das Eingangsgebäude ist ein kleines altes Schmuckstück aus dem sich viel machen ließe. Das Gebäude dahinter in dem sich die Zimmer befinden am besten abreissen und neu bauen.

Das Hotel liegt in einem besonders ruhigen, grünen Ort und bietet ein super reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich kann das Hotel gerne weiterempfehlen.
