The property is falling apart and the front desk is pretty rude. They charge you upfront for incidentals and takes almost 2 weeks to get back.

Overall a nice stay
Overall was a good experience. I would say the amenities exeeded that of a 2 star. The kids really liked the breakfast with the pancake maker. There was some remodeling going on which would have been nice to know about ahead of time but it didn't affect our stay. Some complaints I have were with the room itself. No functioning fan in the bathroom left the room very steamy or stinky. Second, most of the electrical outlets were so worn out anything you plugged in fell out. It was mostly annoying if you were trying to use it. I do believe this is a potential fire hazard so I do hope this gets addressed with the remodel. Otherwise there were cozy beds, great staff and the short walk to the beach was fantastic.

Stayed here since I was gonna go to a concert at the Belly Up. Hotel is undergoing some construction but nothing super inconvenient. Staff was super friendly and helpful, hotel room was comfortable, clean, and smelled so good haha. Lots of dining spots in the area and it was easy to get to via the Coaster train. Would definitely stay here again!

Old, dated, gross hotel, and we were in the RENOVATED part. Not worth the money. Smells like mold. There was food left in the microwave. Furniture and lighting is like 40 years old. This was a super disappointing waste of money.

the hotel is in such a great location, with proximity to shopping, the racetrack and concert venue, and beach. all are within walking distance! the staff are wonderful and kind and the rooms are nice. the remodel that is in process will make them even better! it is an affordable option in a very nice part of San Diego
