Base Your Alaskan Adventure On A Private, Motor-free Lake!

1400 sq ft 2-level home with all modern conveniences (satellite TV, dvd/blueray, high speed WIFI, washer & dryer, hair dryer, iron & board, modern kitchen appliances including dishwasher). Perched on one of the most beautiful lake sites around. Quiet and serene, off the beaten path but just 7 easy miles south of Soldotna, we are mid-way between the Kenai and Kasilof rivers - both world class river fisheries, and a short scenic drive from Homer, Anchor River and other cook inlet salt water fishing charter ports.
The main floor has a queen bed in the master bedroom, a full bathroom, an open combo kitchen/dining/living area and deck, all with awesome lake view. Downstairs you'll find a bedroom with queen bed (with lake view), a half bathroom, and a large bedroom/rec room, with table, chairs and twin beds. Upper deck has chairs, tables and a gas barbecue grill. A short walk down the hill is the grassy lake shore, where you can hang out by the fire pit or paddle the free canoe to fish and explore Hope Lake. Paddle through a short channel to a smaller un-named lake. Wildlife is abundant in and around the lakes, and we can help you plan your adventures farther afield, including river and marine fishing charters, hiking, wildlife viewing, glacier/wildlife cruises and much more. In winter Cross country skiing at two groomed trail systems is within 6 miles - one has night skiing on lighted trails. Ice skating often available on the lake mid through late winter, and sledding nearby as well. Owners are long-time Alaskans with extensive knowledge of the Kenai and many other parts of Alaska, which they love to share!

Lovely home
We were very pleased with our stay. The home was well kept and had all the necessities. The beds were very comfortable. Seeing the lake every morning and hearing the loons was priceless. Just know that 2 of the bedrooms are in the basement.

Great cabin on a beautiful lake!
The cabin has everything that you will need, including a canoe, paddles, life jackets. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. It is a great place.

Best place we stayed on the trip
Super glad that we chose this stay while on our trip. Was very close to our fishing charters and the city of Soldotna, while still giving you a feeling of being out in the wilderness. We loved the canoe and lake. Saw moose and loons. Overall, a superb stay.

Perfect relaxing retreat nestled in the Alaskan wilderness
This is a great place to stay while in Alaska- far enough off the road to be peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to town for convenience and also somewhat centrally located on the Kenai peninsula. Sitting on the porch overlooking the lake in the morning and evenings was really amazing!

Relaxing place on the lake
My family and I had a great time. We seen a lot of wildlife and the view is excellent. The location is 10 minutes to Soldotna for local shops and restaurants. The host is great with communication and went out of his way helping us find a great fishing guide. We would love to rent this house on our next visit.

Doesn't get better than this!
What an amazing place. Complete with canoes and an amazing lake view! Bill also is the best host! The guy spent his career as a wildlife biologist flying around Alaska so he knows all about the different birds and animals in the area, what more could you ask for in a host?! Seriously I can't say enough good things about this place. Just amazing.

Super fun place to stay
Bill, the owner was great. Met us upon checkin. Cabin is a short drive to Soldatna on a beautiful lake. Cabin was clean and cozy. Not super new or renovated but fit is just fine. Full kitchen upstairs with a bedroom and full bathroom. Down stairs you'll find two bedrooms and a half bath along with washer and dryer. We didn't do anything with the lake but did notice the fire pit and canoe. We would stay here again. Thanks Bill!!!

Awesome Location and View
This rental has a fantastic view of the lake and is in a central location for any activity on the Kenai Peninsula. The owners were great to deal with and were able to provide information about things to do as well as wildlife in the area. Thank you for a great family vacation.

We were located between several of our fishing destinations. Seward, Homer, Deep Creek, the Kasilof, Kenai and Russian Rivers. The accommodations were exactly as described. conveniently located within 10 minutes of Soldotna. Moose in the backyard every morning.

Had a great mini vacation. Mom from NC visiting soon from AK . House was perfect, quiet , lake so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again. Only recommendation might be to add some small cozy blankets/throws for living room on chilly mornings/evenings. Owner was super easy to work with.

Peaceful Hideaway
Lovely, peaceful hideaway. Centrally located for exploring the peninsula and close to stores and restaurants. Sitting on the back deck drinking coffee and listening to the Loons on the lake is a great way to start the morning.

Great cabin with beautiful view!
The location was perfect for exploring Kenai Peninsula. The cabin is a quick drive from Soldotna, which is a nice sized town with everything you might need. We loved the privacy of being out of the town and the lakeview is gorgeous. The kids went canoeing and we used the fire pit. Everything was clean and comfortable. The only thing we wished we had were black out curtains in the bedrooms. We had a 3 hour time change, added to Alaska’s midnight sun, it made it a little difficult to sleep with so much light in the bedrooms. I would recommend this cabin.

MAGIC
From the minute we walked through the door we felt like we were transported to a magical place. Sitting on the porch listening to the loons on the lake, rowing out on the lake, watching fish jump, a bald Eagle soar, seeing a mama moose and her twins wandering along the edge of the lake were all things we got to experience at this incredible place. The house is warm, inviting, friendly. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The views are amazing. The owners are delightful, friendly, have lots of recommendations of places to go and things to do and are nearby but not intrusive. All this and yet the convenience of shopping, restaurants and town are all a few minutes away. This was the perfect place for a family reunion.
