We were unable to contact to let them know our time of arrival as nobody answered the phone. When we arrived nobody from the hotel was there so we called the number on the door which was answered. After a short while somebody turned up to let us in ,but there was some confusion over the booking as the diary was not available, however we were shown up to our room via an outside metal staircase. On the plus side, our room was very nice,clean and in good decorative order.. when we vacated there was nobody to pay, so I paid the next day over the telephone. The room rate was not cheap and we expected better. It is with regret that I post this review.

A little hidden gem of a place. Outstanding service, clean, comfortable and a very pleasant one night stay. Me and my wife will definitely be staying here again

Having booked via Expedia and received confmation, the hotel texted us direct to say because we had opted to pay at the hotel, rather than up front, they had accepted another booking that was being paid for in advance. As Expedia had my credit card details, I don't understand why the hotel thought there was any risk to them. At the time it was too late for us to cancel the booking for free. Expedia's 'virtual assistant' is beyond useless and despite saying it would get someone how could help, we never heard anything. It was the first time i have used Expedia, and it will certainly be the last. It remains to be seen if Expedia have charged my credit card.

Great stay
Had an amazing stay. Beautiful local area, very nice recently refurbished accomodation. Lots of nice unusual touches. Water a bit too hot and the pillows could be comfier but those were the only room for improvement. Highly recommend a walk onto dartmoor - a nice easy circular walk from the village up to the resevoir is very nice and around 10m

Really lovely place to stay
Really lovely place to stay. They had thought of lots of little things that made the experience really enjoyable. Parking is free outside after 1800 or all night round the corner. The cafe associated with the accommodation is fabulous and really relaxed.

All you actually had was room with a bed and fridge and a kettle. The window was blacked out , no tv, no wardrobe no evening meals and breakfast not served till 10.

The owners of the Station were very nice. Expedia however only booked one room when we had confirmation from Expedia we had booked two. Expedia’s issue. Not good
