They have four resrautrants but we can booked only two meals for five days stayed the time for reseration from 9 am to 5 pm .we came to reserveres at 9 am but they give us the time is 9 pm she said that is earlier one we can have dinner at the restaurant and when we check in to restaurant had to waitted for one hour to got our food .We wanted to order more food .He said the restautrant was closed for order . Two restautrants was the same way to serserved customers .On the last day we check out at 12 pm but our fly was at 6 pm shuttle meet us at 3 pm from 12 pm to 3 pm . The reception cuts a wrist strap on our hand told us have to stay at lobby for 3 hours can not go anywhere without any drind and food servers for us she said that .This is the first time we comes to this resort was a last time never go back again .Thank you .

Very happy with the stay! Pool was never crowded. The pool bartenders Alfredo & Gerardo were lovely and really made us feel special everyday with great custom drinks. Buffet had good options daily. Rooms were clean and had good air conditioning. For a short stay it was a great resort with everything we needed.

I have very mixed emotions about the Barcelo. We visited 10 years ago and had our wedding here on November 14th, bringing 47 guests with us and paying $10K USD for the premium chocolate sensation package. In the 3 days before the wedding multiple people (including me and the groom) got extremely sick in a way we have never experienced visiting Mexico. We aren’t sure what caused it but I wasn’t even able to attend my own bachelorette party because of it. And because multiple people were experiencing this we do think it was something at the hotel. It continued for many people for the entire week. Multiple rooms had broken showers or no hot water. Our room had broken lights and an electrical panel problem that caused an extremely loud and alarming buzzing noise. There was also a bartender named David that is the rudest employee I have ever met. He shut down the ONLY bar in the resort 15 minutes early even though it was full of people and overall seemed like he hated his job every time you asked for a drink. I’m very disappointed that so many of our wedding guests were sick (some couldn’t even attend the wedding) and that the staff in the resort seems so unhappy and like they don’t care if you have a good time. Would I recommend a week long trip here? Sure. But I don’t think I would recommend paying so much for a wedding to have so many issues with the hotel.

Don't recommend it.
The good: Nice location, beautiful lobby and great pools, kids friendly, attentive and very nice staff. Bad: property needs a renovation, stuff breaks in the rooms - screens, AC, toilets clog, tvs do not work. Buffet was very good, other restaurants at the property were bad. Nightly strong stench of sewage. One tower lost power for 2 days.
