While it is undergoing renovation, in its current state it looks and feels quite old and run down. The hallway carpeting is brand new and in excellent condition but the rooms are showing its age. The bathroom counter and tiles are not in good condition. The bathroom door of my room would not close due to severe wrapping. All the woodwork discolored, chipped, and over-caulked. Bathrooms did not have small face towels so that large towels had to used to washup in the shower. Water pressure was limited.

Small slow elevators . Room was small for two people . Breakfast said full English however it was part of buffet and grey scrambled eggs . Location was great for cruise ship transfer.

They were very busy both days with cruisers arriving & departing ships from the Southampton port - front desk did well controlling the guest waiting and working with housekeeping to move things along

Carpet was dirty in the room, dirty tissues left under bed from previous people ( unacceptable) slow check in as room was not ready at 3pm as stated the time when we could check in from, hotel corridors could do with a revamp as looked tired , on a positive note the lady who met us at breakfast ( hotel employee)was friendly, helpful and cheeful, wish all the staff could be like this lady , would I stay there again..............
