Peace and Quiet in the Middle of London
Our five-night stay at the Lalit London met all of our expectations. We chose Lalit as we used to live a few streets over and knew this to be the perfect location - a short walk to London Bridge Station, the Thames and Hays Galleria, Bermondsey Street for restaurants, coffee & art and close to the Ropewalk/Maltby St. Market. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored grammar school, updated in sumptuous Indian decor. Although centrally located, the hotel is very quiet inside. The staff are professional, polite and very helpful. The room is well appointed with all of the needed amenities, including excellent in-room coffee. There are plenty of closet storage space and overhead closet lighting. Everything was spotlessly clean in our bedroom and bathroom. The toiletries were top notch. The only improvement I can think of is better lighting in the bathroom for applying makeup. The spa is definitely worth a visit - the highly trained professional masseuse Mukesh gave the most wonderful body and facial massage I have ever had anywhere! A relaxing and rejuvenating treatment to help with the jet lag. A special thank you to the staff who assisted in posting internationally a left item in my hotel room. I also appreciated the chocolate Anniversary cake awaiting in our room upon arrival. The little touches go a long way. Thank you for a lovely week!

Check-in was excellent and got a free upgrade to a beautiful and spacious room! Choose this hotel over other hotels in the area mainly for it's history and character and it's close proximity to Borough Markets! Cannot find fault in the breakfast - amazing! After breakfast (around 9 am), I settled my account and advised Vikram, Assistant Front Reception Manager that my transport will arrive at 11:30 am and that I will be in the room doing last minute packing. (Check-out time is noon). I activated the 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign on my door. At approx. 9:30 am, I hear someone unlocking and opening my room door??? It was the housekeeping team ... did they not see the DO NOT DISTURB sign?? They said, according to their records, I had checked out. I told them, if the DO NOT DISTURB sign was activated and if they are not sure, is it not courtesy for them to ring/knock on my door before entering??? I immediately rang Front Desk and spoke with Vikram and he apologized and said it was a misunderstanding by their housekeeping team. Their staff needs to be provided more training on an ongoing basis so situations like this does not occur. A beautiful stay in London, ended with a disappointing stay this hotel.

Superior standards. This is our second time staying at the Lalit. Both times we have arrived with high expectations and left impressed. The area near the Tower Bridge is a nice reprieve from the touristy areas. We can walk 2 minutes and be on the Thames with nature and great views. Service at the Lalit feels like unreasonable hospitality...and their tradition. Their first hotel opened in Delhi in 1988. Extravagance is their specialty. The interiors are classic but not without subtle flair. This former 19th century private school house has been filled with Indian style and elegance. The classrooms have been transformed into 'never want to leave' rooms with sophisticated touches like motion-activated closet lighting, crisp bedding, designer bathroom brassware, heated toilet bidet, under floor heated porcelain bathroom floor tiles, wooden floors, and real art. Their on-site restaurant & bar deserve their own reviews. Try the Imli cocktail and charred salmon for a quick trip into the unique experience of this gem. I had the most incredible massage at their spa, Rejuve. Everything we needed in one beautiful peaceful place.

Very cute little place, very attentive staff, beautiful room and facilities. The breakfast arrangement was a bit odd, but whatever. I loved my stay there. Close to London Bridge Station/Subway, lots of party places and pubs during the weekend, close to the Tower, Tower Bridge and the pier, just wonderful.

Nice new hotel but can be better
Nice hotel 6-7min walk from London Bridge station. Found the check in at reception to be a bit disorganised and not handled great when my partner arrived 5min before me and was not made to feel welcome. Rooms are spacious and tidy. I feel the quality of the bedding was not great. Pillows were poor quality and the mattress was hard and uncomfortable. Should have a mattress topper at minimum.
