The Owner was very accommodating with our late arrival. Back Inn Time is one of if not the best B&B’s I have visited. Quaint spacious old building & the Breakfast was very tasty.

Beautiful building and felt like an authentic b & b experience. The room was lovely although no TV …not a dealbreaker for us but I think should perhaps be mentioned or called out in the property description. (There is a tv in the common area though). We didn’t ask about the pool but it’s not on the property…just something “nearby” (not visible so not sure where it actually was) and realistically is probably enough of a hassle to put you off using it. The shower in our room was extremely small and very low pressure, again not a dealbreaker and to be expected in an older home. The host was a friend of the owner who was away for the weekend and she was lovely and friendly. However, for the price ($400 USD including tax), I think I was expecting a bit more from the room and inn features iso gave a rating of four stars vs five due to vale for the money.

Thanks for leaving a review, Martha. You stayed in the Renaissance room, one of our master suites. In fact, the shower is brand new and as large as can fit in the room--not a custom shower, but rather a standard size. I am sorry you didn't find the pressure to be what you wanted. I will look into that. As for the pool, we advertise that there is a very beautiful community pool within walking distance, but have never claimed there is one on site. Third party booking engines strictly limit what we are allowed to say in our overview, but if you were to look at the room descriptions and the overview on our own site you would see that at Back Inn Time we do not have tvs in the rooms because we harken back to a simpler way of relaxation, rest, and reconnecting. Additionally, on our site you are guaranteed the lowest pricing, but third party booking engines charge high commissions and fees which are frequently reflected in the price you pay to book through them. I hope you enjoyed your complimentary Sauvignon Blanc, and I am so happy that you appreciated my gracious friend, Linda.

No lock and road noise
Posted Oct. 22, 2022 on HotelsThis is a lovely old house with a very consciencious inn keeper (Karen). Our room was nice enough, and the breakfast was excellent. We did have some issues that we think other potential guests may want to know about. In the Renaissance room: 1. Our door had no lock. An offer was made to go get a latch to install for us, but we politely declined. We'd recommend doing that for future guests. We put a chair in front of the door. 2.We couldn't find a way to control the heat other than opening a window. Then it got cold....3.Due to being an old house, insulation must be poor, and our room faced a fairly busy street -road noise kept both of us awake much of the night. 4. Door to shower room wouldn't close properly so sleeping husband could hear me in the shower & ventilation fan. 5. Lighting in room, especially bathroom poor. 6. No TV. There were some very nice aspects to this property, but for the price we paid, we expected much better.

Thanks for writing your concerns, however it would have been more helpful while here, so we could remedy them. Aside from the fact that we tried to accommodate you and you declined, there are a few things I think it's important to point out. I asked if the temperature was acceptable and you indicated it was. This time of year with cool nights and warm days, I try extra hard to make everyone happy. That said, I rely on a guest's honesty to determine the best appropriate action. Furthermore, opening the window drives the heat on more, not less. Additionally, if the house was poorly insulated it would not be too warm, it would be too cold. It is well insulated and usually perfectly cozy unless people try to remedy things themselves without being honest so we can make adjustments for them. There is a white noise machine in the room for those who insist on having the street side window open (though there are two other large windows that are not street facing that are quite operable if needed.) I am not sure why you didn't want to use that, but it has 12 programmable, delightful sounds to serenade you. Also, we specifically note in our listings that there is no TV in the room. There is a media room where many people engage in TV watching or movies, but usually conversation, games, etcetera. Our listing specifically notes that there are no TVs in the rooms--Back Inn Time is a step back into a simpler, more appreciative and content era where people engage in conversation, reading, and many other sorts of enjoyment.Lastly, we always guarantee the absolute best price when booking directly. Third party booking engines charge large fees which small businesses must try to account for.We appreciate your feedback. In all honesty, trying to navigate what a guest thinks is "polite" is the most difficult part of managing expectations here. We ask honest and direct questions because we want honest and direct answers in order to make your stay wonderful. In order for us to deliver the quality we desire to, we hope for open and timely communication from our guests.
