Liked: Location, breakfast at The Pinch next store, the place was clean. Disliked: The room and hotel lobby looked nothing like the pictures. Our room was plain and ugly and uncomfortable. Parking is stacked and you have to give your keys to the front desk (not as advertised). Service carts left in the hallways all night. It felt like the staff had given up making the place seem nice in the time of COVID and low occupancy. This should be rated as a 1 star or 2 star hotel. We checked out a night early partly due to the disappointment in the room. There was a mistake in the charge, and the hotel promised to refund the money. So far, it has not come through and multiple attempts to contact them have yielded silence. Very disappointed honestly.

An older building with its share of quirks, but an extremely wonderful staff and an awesome breakfast. it also has the added benefit of being in a great location, just down the street from the historic old city and a five minute walk from the train station. Well worth the money.

Comfort and Convience
Great location, 3 mins walk from train station, bus stop and supermarket Migros. Easy access to all tourist attractions. Friendly staff and room is clean, spacious and well-equipped. Bed is very comfortable and our room was in the 4th floor with a great view. We would stay here again.

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. I booked a one-night stay here because of a most excellent stay I had a dozen years ago. Still a wonderful staff and great breakfast, but the furnishings seem tired and worn and maybe could use a coat of paint. Nevertheless, I plan to return in a few months for a longer stay. :)

good location to both the train station (5 min walk), historic/tourist area and stores in general (12 min) very well kept building, pleasant staff, decent breakfast, good bed, decent bathroom/shower, nice terrace, quiet street generally only downside when there (which clearly will subside) was a side street construction going on starting at 7:30 am

Hotel is closed when check-in
This is absolutely ridiculous, I've received all the room booking confirmation before I arrived on 24Dec, however, when I arrived there, the hotel is closed until 7Jan!!!!! I had to run around to find another hotel so that I don't need to sleep under the bridge!!! The hotel shouldn't accept any booking if they decided to shut it down completely during the festive season.

This hotel provides an excellent breakfast, staff are friendly. I had an apartment which was very spacious and comfortable. Building construction across the road commences weekdays at 7am so it was a little noisy but bearable

Upgraded to apartment as the room iwas given was next to the old style noisy lift well. The apartment was large with separate lounge and kitchen.

Warmth all round!
A practical, convenient, and cosy place to stay, and I would return again. There was a snow and hailstorm as we arrived shedding ice-balls on their floor, but the warmth of the hotel and the warmth of its receptionists, cheered us up immediately, and continued throughout our stay.

Thi hotel is lower on our Swiss hotel lists.
Up two blocks of road construction and over another two blocks, we reached the hotel from the train station. Hotel is half way between St. Gallen historical area and the train station. It was a very hot initial two days. They didi their best to get some air circulated with two fans in our room. The free breakfast was not held at proper temperatures, had run out of items and staff could not keep up with all the tables of guests especially over the weekend. The weekday was better as not as many folks stayed here. Became more watchful in the area at night as no one was around all of the high rise buildings.We wondered if it might be a low season?
