A really charming guesthouse with all the small touches of a much pricier place. Great value for money, good linen, amenities, bathroom and general environment. Proprietors were super welcoming and dealt with a late check-in with ease, and really made you feel at home. Bonus: there is a Nespresso machine in the room and complimentary basic breakfast (cereals, toast, coffee) even though it is not advertised as B&B. The wildlife sanctuary at the back is a fantastic place to visit and the wild eagle owls hooting at night are a treat. You really do feel like you are in a special place. Hint: there are zero restaurants/take out places open in St Helena on a Sunday evening so be prepared. Also, if travelling to paternoster, the gravel road is badly corrugated, and not advisable. There is a fantastic book of the history of St Helena available at the west coast fossil museum (well worth a visit) which gives some great information. Enjoy the peace and tranquility!
