Close to town & the dock for Mac Island. They don't tell you you must use a bar for the ground-level sliding glass door. You have to figure that out on your own. They will take your dirty towels when you put them in the hallway but not leave any. The pool area & pool were clean. For the price and location, it was good.

Properties was nice. However night clerk was rude and not very pleasant on checkin. Then later that night was berating one of the children with us while they were playing in the pool. At which point I had to step in.

The location and view of the lake from the balcony were great. It goes downhill from there. It’s an old property which I would never ding for, but is showing the wear. Especially in the pool area. The floor was extremely uneven and “soggy” which made me worry about the safety. It likely needs to be completely re-done. One of the 2 hot tubs was out of order. We were told when we checked in that if we wanted clean towels during our 2 night stay, we would need to bring the dirty ones to the front desk and exchange them. Never in my travels have I ever run into that! The pool area also ran out of towels while we were sitting in the hot tub. And it wasn’t even busy. The breakfast options were not great. Typical “continental” stuff & pancakes. Zero offerings that had any protein. Carbs only. And on Sunday morning when I went to grab a coffee, I realized I was 10 minutes late. What hotels close down the breakfast at 9:00 on the weekend? I get that it’s hard to find staff, and the staff at the front desk were very nice. But at the price we paid, I expected better conditions and service.

Beachfront was extensive with a beautiful view and walkout from our ground floor room which was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was standard and good. The rooms need updating.

Overall, a good stay
We were greeted upon arrival. The woman behind the desk was wonderful. Rooms definitely need updating, but it was a comfortable bed and clean sheets. All in all it was a good stay keep in mind if you’re going over to the island the hotel sells the tickets cheaper than the operator.

Property was older but clean. The first night we were in a room below breakfast area and something like a compressor was going on and off all night, very nosy. They did move us when we requested a different room and it was much quieter. Nice being on the water, beautiful views. Convenient with shuttle service and discounted tickets to ferry for Mackinac Island.

Stayed here and did a day trip Mackinaw Island. They have the tickets at the front desk and the shuttle picked us up at the front door. Rooms are clean and not bad for an older place. The front desk folks are local and really helpful when looking for good Pasties. Thanks again to Ed for warning us about the tractor parade
