The Tarpon Springs Suites are nearby Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort and Lake Tarpon, as well as the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks where Greek culture abounds. Tarpon Springs is steeped with history with many sites on the National Register of Historic Places and local and cultural activities, including; its own Tarpon Springs Aquarium, Suncoast Primate Sanctuary, performing arts, museums, award winning art festivals, music festivals, micro breweries, a winery, great beaches and parks with boat ramps for boats of all sizes, as well as outdoor movie nights.
The Pinellas Trail is also just a few blocks away to go for a nice walk, jog or to ride a bike. The trail runs from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete allowing for an all day adventure with many shops and restaurants along the way.
For those who want to relax, or simply not worry about parking, take the Trolley. The Jolly Trolley offers a unique way to see the coastal towns from Tarpon Springs to St Pete with stops including the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and the top rated Clearwater Beach and St Pete Beaches. The passes are interchangeable; you can use your pass throughout Pinellas County on PSTA/Suncoast buses.
Tarpon Springs boasts multiple local gulf beaches. Fred Howard Park and Sunset Beach, both offering spectacular daily sunset viewing opportunities without the crowds and their own unique extracurricular activities.
There are a few ferry services located on the Sponge Docks that will take you Anclote Key. This is a must see picture perfect island. Anclote Key Preserve State Park & Lighthouse was built in 1887. It stands on the southern end of the island and is still a working lighthouse today. Shelling the beach at Anclote Key is fabulous and never disappoints. It is quite common to see dolphins playing in the boat's wake, and if you are lucky you might catch a glimpse of sea turtles on your way to and from the stunning beach and waters of Anclote Key. There are many boat rental companies in the area. The opportunities of exploring beaches, inter-coastal islands, and sandbars are endless, not to mention inshore and offshore fishing possibilities.
