The property is very clean and we really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the availability of beach supplies (towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc..) however what really threw me off was the fact that the property was not as described. I booked a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and I ended up getting a 1 bedroom (and another room with a twin bed and no closet, which according to my dictionary that doesn’t count as a second bedroom) and we got a 1 and half bathroom (only one shower was available). The property management claimed that Expedia only allows 1 or 2 bathroom listings! This didn’t make any sense to me as such a thing could easily be called out in the property description or part of the multiple messages that the property sent to me before my check in. Another thing to watch out for, is that the property charges multiple fees on top of your base Expedia fee (parking and resort fees). I stayed in another Avalon in St. Pete’s that was a lot better.

The website makes it seem like there are amenities that are actually “nearby”. The apartment “can’t call it a room, it’s a full on apartment) was great except for the water pressure in the shower and the ac not cool enough at night. The hotel itself is lacking. A vending machine, urn coffee with flavored creamers and a “bar” (felt bad for the bartender) are the amenities. Not sure what the resort fee is for unless you’re staying long term and need chairs and such for the beach. And they don’t tell you the restrictions until the day after you can cancel. Just know it’s no smoking in the whole property whether it’s cigs, vapes or legal medically necessary “other stuff”. And there’s no amenities ON PROPERTY. I just feel like it’s a lot of hype with little return. Could have spent the same money to stay somewhere with actual amenities on site

Absolutely heavenly!!! So close to the beach which was a pleasant walk, the room spotless clean and fresh!! Loved the soaps to the beds! Comfort and class! We were scared because of other reviews but it is so not true! I loved it and will return here for our next trip to Clearwater!!!
