Mas Santoline has been designed in the style of a traditional Provencal Mas close to the old center of Eygalières, a very quiet and authentic village. You enter the property through a large gate . This recently built and tastefully decorated villa accommodates up to 12 people. The garden of the villa is surrounded by old olive groves, hedges and scented trees and plants. It has five bedrooms, two on the ground floor, three upstairs, each with private shower rooms and lovely views of the Alpilles hills, the old village and the Mont Ventoux. The three double and two twin rooms have been individually decorated in a Provencal style and the whole house is air-conditioned.
The salon is comfortably finished and has a fireplace, a large, satellite television screen, DVD and hi-fi. The kitchen is typically French and well equipped with a large fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher and opens onto a covered terrace, where there is a barbecue, table and chairs. There is also laundry room with a washing and drying machine.There is a swimming pool in a lovely, shady setting, which has a security alarm and long chairs and garden furniture scattered under the trees. Outside lights softly illuminate the whole property in the evenings.
The layout is as follows :
Ground Floor : The house distributes a large living room (54 m²) and dining area, a fully equipped eat-in-kitchen. There is 2 bedrooms on this floor.The living room has two sets of French windows opening onto the garden and looking onto the pool. There is a fireplace, two large sofas, some armchairs, as well as a TV, and a stereo system with CD player. The dining area is furnished with an oval dining table seating 12. The open kitchen is separated from the dining room by an eating counter, it is fully equipped : an oven, four electric hotplates, a microwave, a coffee maker, a toaster, a American fridge and a dishwasher. A windows looks onto the garden. Next to the kitchen is a laundry room with a washing and drying machine. The two first bedrooms are on the west part of the house.The first bedroom has a south exposed French window opening onto the garden , a double size bed with bed side tables, a chest of drawers and a built in closet. There is an en-suite stall bathroom with toilet, shower, bath. The second bedroom is furnished with 3 single beds, and a wardrobe. There is an en-suite bathroom with a double washbasin, a stall shower and a toilet.
First French Floor :On the upper floor are three more bedrooms : The first bedroom to the right is furnished with a three single beds with bedside tables, a dresser and a built in closet. There is an en-suite stall shower with a washbasin and a toilet. The second and third bedrooms are furnished with double bed, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. There are two en-suite bathroom with a washbasin, a stall shower and a toilet. Each bedroom on this floor has a window facing south and opening onto the garden with tremendous view on the Alpilles hills, the old Eygalières Village and the Mont Ventoux.
Outside : A fully equipped summer kitchen is available off the kitchen and the living room, under the large paved and shaded terrace with garden furniture. It is equipped with a BBQ, four electric hotplates, a fridge and a sink. The landscaped garden is planted with trees (olive, palm…) and lawn. The large swimming pool (11,5mx5 m) is surrounded by lawn. You access the property through a private lane and stairs. At the rear of the house are enough parking spaces for several cars. There is also a garage for a car.The house is located down the mountain range called ‘Alpilles’in a privileged natural and classified area, and less than 5 minutes drive from the historical old village called Eygalières, perched on the rocks. Eygalières is at 10mn from the famous St Remy de Provence and 30 minutes south of the city of Avignon. St Remy has its own air of quiet chic, elegant shops and a number of restaurants, little squares with ancient fountains, shady cafes terraces. Within their surroundings, the Alpilles chain of mountains forms both a striking and a harmonious picture. It is also the landscape of famous painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne and Matisse who came here to capture the extraordinary light and color of the region.It is also rich agricultural area with rolling plains of fruit orchards, olives groves and all variety of Mediterranean vegetables. It is alive with the sound of chirping 'cigales' and the intoxicating aromas of multitude of wild herbs... This area is the ‘Provence of the Rhone’ and has a strong Roman heritage. The famous ruins of Glanum -an archeological site from the first century BC- are nearby. From there it is only a short drive through the hills to Les Baux de Provence, an ancient village perched high on the rocks, once one of the most celebrated and brilliant of the troubadour courts of love in the Middle Ages, now romantically ghostly. The villa is also at the centre of the Baux de Provence and Côteaux d'Aix vineyards and not far from Château Neuf du Pape. The closest highway is the A7 (exit Cavaillon) 15 minutes drive away, which goes from Lyon to Marseille with connections for all major cities of the south east of France. The closest train station is at Avignon and is served by the TGV (Train Grande Vitesse, i.e. high speed train) that goes to Paris in 2 hours and 40 minutes! The closest airport is Avignon as well with daily flights to Paris. But most international connections are made through the international airports of Marseille-Marignane or Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
