The Dancing Orchid Bed and Breakfast Villa is secluded and peaceful, located on the Northside of St. Thomas, overlooking Magens Bay and five minutes from Hull Bay. You can watch the sunrise over Magens Bay, almost touch the pelicans as they glide past on the breeze of the tradewinds, and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean on the shoreline below. There is also a beautiful nature trail on the grounds that winds down to the shoreline.
This luxurious villa has over 2,500 square feet of interior space, with tall, wood-beamed ceilings, interior stone walls, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, custom mahogany cabinetry and woodwork, granite countertops, marble-tiled bathrooms, and mahogany furniture. An interior mahogany staircase leads to the lower level and a smaller kitchenette, with mahogany cabinetry and woodwork, granite countertops, sink, refrigerator, and microwave oven. A washer and dryer is also located on the lower level.
The Jungle Room is one of three guest rooms in the villa. It is located on the lower level and adjoins the lower level balcony that overlooks Magens Bay. The Jungle Room is quite large and has a king- sized, hand carved mahogany, four poster, canopy bed, as well as a writing desk and chair, a dresser, bedside tables, a large closet, a smart TV, cable, and high speed internet. There is also an air conditioner and ceiling fan in the room, even though there are near constant tradewinds.
There is a marble-tiled bathroom on each of the two levels. They are European-style bathrooms that are shared by the guests.
Start your day on the expansive upper balcony overlooking Magens Bay and enjoy a sumptuous, healthy, continental breakfast. Ingredients are often freshly picked from the garden on the grounds, which includes native bananas, papayas, pineapples, passionfruit, spinach, arugula, kale, rosemary, thyme, basil, mint, and other herbs, depending on the season. Breakfast consists of at least coffee, tea, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, and fresh baked bread.
Our cistern water is filtered with a sediment spin-down filter, a carbon-block filter, a 5 micron sediment filter, and an ultraviolet light filter.
The grounds contain numerous native trees, bushes, and flowering plants. There are several outdoor areas that are ideal for sunbathing and star gazing, as well as relaxing with a good book in the solitude and listening to the birds and the sounds of the ocean. There are various books and games provided for adults and children during their stay. There is also an outdoor gas grill that the guests are welcome to use.
The driveway is paved and well lit with automated dusk-to-dawn lighting, and there is a paved parking area for up to three vehicles at the villa. We highly recommend that you reserve a rental vehicle for your stay. There is no Uber service in the USVI, and taxi drivers can be reluctant to come here because we are not on the main road.
