Do not stay here
Quite simply the rooms in this pub are totally unsuitable to be sold as accommodation. We experienced loud music playing in bar until midnight with zero sound proofing in rooms above so extremely loud and impossible to sleep. This was followed at 5.30am by very loud conversations through the paper thin walls/ floor and television or radio with no consideration for guests. No idea why there was this level of noise so early from what sounded like quite a few people but if these rooms are to be sold as bedrooms they need to be properly sound proofed. Furthermore no shower gel or shampoo provided in the bathroom. Radiator on full blast in summer so room far too hot.
Ok if you dont need sleep before a drive or comfor
Didnt know the pub below was like the lical nightclub with music so loud until 11,30pm that you could hear every word and beat.Shower didnt stay on its setting and no pressure.Paint peeling off the walls, heating didnt work the first night. And breakfast menu charges you a price but items arent on the plate.
Room was nice and clean. The food in the pub was fantastic, highly recommend the steak and ale pie!
Down side was how loud the pub was. Music played until midnight on a quiet Tuesday, just no thought given to paying hotel guests
Staff very pleasant. Was a busy Saturday afternoon when we arrived, the staff were friendly and showed us to our room quickly. Tv control and tv were broken. Loud music until midnight so no sleep for any of the kids until after it had finished.
Was relatively clean and had everything we needed for a one night stop. Signage and pictures need updated as no food is offered so is a bit misleading. Check in was very rushed but staff were friendly. Good location. Wifi password in room welcome pack didn’t work so no wifi was available. Expected some noise as obviously about a pub but on a Tuesday night staying with a child I didn’t expect the rave and shouting from a packed pub right underneath us till gone midnight. Worse night sleep I’ve had in a long time and wouldn’t book here again due to this which is a shame
was 3 of us staying and we all thought it was a great room and value for money. felt there could have been some kind of sofa/chair . a room for 5 you might need something to sit on besides the bed. however room might not be big enough for the extra sofa. shower was great and easy to use . plenty towels. it is on a cross roads but its a quiet village so not a lot of road noise to keep you awake. easy to find only 10 minutes ish from the A1. while we was there the pub did not to food but there are plenty places close by to get anything you fancy. we would all stay here again clean tidy room , great hosts friendly and welcoming. great night in the bar drinking and chatting . what more cant you qsk for .
