About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Historic two bedroom house in Old Town Steamboat Springs. Quiet neighborhood.

My wife and I remodeled the home in 2019 and is a charming vacation get away. It has two bedrooms, one on each floor, 2 1/2 baths, large entry, dining area, living room, kitchen and beer on tap. The Spruce Nest is on a dead-end street. However, near the end of the street is a trail that follows Butcher Knife Creek and leads to a dog park several blocks away. Downtown is about a 10-minute walk, leading to many stores, restaurants, and the 'Yampa River. Strawberry Park Natural Hot Springs and access to Buffalo Pass is about a 15 to 20-minute drive. You'll love the location. Quiet and close to everything.

We now have a 50-Amp Electric Vehicle car charging station for quick charging.

Have a large group or another family that you would like to spend time with? We now offer the Aspen Grove, a short-term rental attached to the back of the Spruce Nest. It also sleeps 5, has two bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, kitchen, living and dining area and large deck. And, there is a lockable adjoining door between the two units, so no need to go outside to visit. You must book both places at the same time. You can search for VRBO # 318705 for the Aspen Grove listing.

Don't see the dates you want? Try our other listing at the Aspen Grove. You can search for VRBO # 318705 for the Aspen Grove listing.

If you are a single or single couple and only don't use one bedroom and bath, you will receive a $50 refund for our house cleaners not having to clean that area! After you leave, we will make sure nothing was used in one bedroom and bath. If the sheets and bath are unused, I will refund you $50. It's that simple.

Wonderful location and very clean
What a wonderful place to nest with the family!!! This home is nestled in a small quiet community within walking distance of shops, church, restaurants, art galleries, bars and Howelsen Hill. The home is extremely clean with comfortable beds/pillows, heated bathroom floors, large round dining table and cozy den. Our family of five was extremely comfortable as we were in town for a ski trip. The snowboarders in the family were thrilled to have boot warmers on sight…and not a bad drive to Steamboat. Many of our meals were cooked in-house with a well equipped kitchen and free flowing beer through the two in-house taps provided by our host Tom. If we had any issues or questions, Tom, the host, was quick to respond and help. This is a wonderful place to stay. I highly recommend if you are looking for a place to relax or call home base for a while.

Cozy and close to everything!
We came to Steamboat for family fun and relaxation and Tom’s property was a great home base for both. The home is on a quiet street, with a driveway that allows 2 SUV’s to park. One bedroom has an en-suite bath with shower and the upstairs bathroom is private with an adjacent full bathroom. The kitchen is well appointed and we enjoyed cooking in.Thanks Tom, we had a great stay!

Excellent week stay @ Spruce Nest in downtown Steamboat
Lovely, well appointed house in ideal location! The home was super clean and very well stocked with cleaning supplies, kitchen spices and cooking items and everything rentals usually leave out, including Kombucha and beer on tap! Tom is a great host and very accommodating. We hope to return. We really enjoyed staying here. Spruce Nest deserves 6 stars.

Perfect first trip to Steamboat
The Spruce Nest was absolutely fantastic. The accommodations are so cozy and the place has literally everything you could need. I mean everything. My wife and I also own a VRBO in the mountains and we were taking notes of the little details so we can improve the stay for our guests. Tom Williams and his wife are great to property managers and every detail is thought of…we are coming back. Our stay was two full weeks and we plan to stay longer next trip hopefully. If you get the chance this place will make Steamboat a great trip. We walked to everything and even in the cold it was pleasant and never more than 10 mins or so to reach shops and restaurants. If we could give a sixth star we would.

Steamboat 2023
We had an awesome time in Steamboat. Spruce Nest has set the bar for future VRBO rentals. We had plenty of room, furniture was comfy, heated bathroom floors and the bed was amazing (we could have been a little tired also). We opted to prepare our meals onsite and the appliances, cooking accessories and extras such as spices, food storage etc... made it very easy for our meals. Location to walk downtown or to the Stehley Park for the dogs was an added extra feature. We will be back!

Tom’s the best
Awesome property. Wonderful owner. Communication was top notch. We were a group of 7, 4 adults and an infant and two dogs. Property had everything we needed. It was close to downtown and about 10-12 minutes to the slopes. There is a nice park right behind the house which was a great place to walk the dogs. We would stay with Tom again at either of his properties (owns the adjacent property also). Thanks again for the muffins and making our first trip to “The Boat” a wonderful experience. See you soon!!!

Cute and cozy home
Tom’s home is perfect for a mountain get-away. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood, walkable to downtown. The home is updated but still has that mountain/cozy feel. The beds were super comfy and the heated floor in the bedrooms made it super pleasant in the chilly mornings. We’ll definitely be coming back and staying here!

Wonderful property and overall experience!
This property is everything you would hope and expect for a Steamboat Springs holiday. First, if you prefer to be in town rather than up on the mountain, the location is perfect. The neighborhood is quiet and quaint, very close to the shopping and restaurants. Second, the house is extremely well furnished and appointed -- clean, fresh, and high quality. Having two large king bedrooms on different floors promotes peace and privacy for whoever is sharing the house. And the pull-out sofa is a perfectly good solution as well in case your group does not quite fit into the two bedrooms. Finally, the owner is very attentive and conscientious about the entire experience. We had some last minute travel difficulties and were very appreciative of how he worked with us to save our vacation. If you are looking for a good home base for a Steamboat holiday, I don't believe you can find a better place than this one.
