However, the front desk staff is rude and impatient, especially for the post checkout service.

Well, if you don't want the 3rd party to take a portion of your price, don't market yourself on those websites. I never had this issue with other hotel groups, or airlines. If I buy my tickets on expedia.com and physically took the flight, I get my mileage, isn't it?
