"We had a lovely, restorative stay at this unusual property. The cabin is clean, well-equipped and a good size. The kitchen is thoughtfully designed and easy to prepare meals in, there is plenty of hot water and a decent shower, the log burner is easy to use and plenty of logs are provided, and the mattress on the bed is superb - everything you need for a comfy and cosy stay. The most special thing about Lekido, though, is the setting: the cabin is surrounded on one side by tall tree trunks (a Scandi forest feeling) whilst on the other side are all the other inhabitants of this wonderful smallholding: rescued hens, geese, ducks, goats, sheep, donkeys, with whom you can interact freely. Ian and Nikki are superb hosts: Ian welcomed us, showed us around and introduced us to all the animals. He was always ready to help if needed, but managed this without being intrusive; he respected our privacy. You have your own space and can just enjoy living alongside all the animals. What Ian and Nikki have created here is very special - a utopian space and a sanctuary for all kinds of animals (including humans). There is traffic noise from the nearby A2, so it's not an isolated 'middle of nowhere' location - but the upside of that is that it's convenient to visit Canterbury, Faversham and other locations.
