Unfortunately, we were in a room next to a service lift which was very noisy and also had a really dirty AC vent that caused us respiratory issues when sleeping in the room. The staff were so wonderful and understanding and moved us immediately to another room and upgraded us for our final night and we had a much better and quieter rest! Location is great for transport and dining options.

Great stay at Rydges central Sydney
We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. Not only we were offered early and late check out, Rydges hotel went the extra mile to surprise us with a bottle of champagne! The hotel is in a good location close to everything. The room is spacious, clean and staff is helpful. Can't really fault it Thank you so much. You made our special day unforgettable.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was pretty dated along with an ancient tv. The bathroom is really in need of some attention as the shower screen is basically non existent and allows water to flow all over the bathroom floor and the toilet seat is way too small and doesn’t correctly fit the existing toilet. Overall cleanliness of the bathroom wasn’t great with a used screw up tissue down the toilet and toilet seat left up like it had just been used. Thick dust hanging off mirror, windows don’t open or close but they have a constant breeze along with a breeze that seemed to plow from under the room door. The lifts are incredibly slow, better to walk but no stairwell in sight apart from ground floor to the 1st floor. Breakfast was included in our booking but was very average at best, all pastries stale and chewy, all eggs were snotty and undercooked, definately not worth the $30+ you’d have to pay. We had breakfast for 3 mornings hoping for an improvement each time but no such luck. For the price you pay I think there are better options however if you need access to central station then it’s an ideal location. Sydney brewery which is attached is really nice and must go if you’re around

Main thing I didn’t like was nobody picking up phone (several times) when I called ( concierge, front desk, reception, house manager, etc). When we did reach staff, they were very helpful.

Overall the area was good, in a busy area. Everything is walkable and the noise factor was good. The staff was helpful. My only negative was the carpet was old and had not a bad smell, just an old smell. I literally had to buy air freshener because it bothered me. The bed was pretty comfy and they had a decent selection of channels to watch than most average hotels.

We stayed for my wife's 60th birthday. Great location. Checkout was 11am we had house cleaners opening our door at 10:15 my wife just stepped out of the shower and had to push the door shut on them so they couldn’t see her, then 20minutes later they did the same. Don't they know when guest have booked out of rooms before entring. Very disappointing
