Very slow service at check in and check out. Super expensive parking and had to wait for a long time to drop off and pick up car. Cramped bathroom, facilities are dated and worn.

Be aware that instead of breakfast being included, we only received a $25 in-hotel credit which did come close to covering the $35 charged in the hotel restaurant per person.

Great location, particularly for those taking a cruise from Sydney. However, the hotel is very tired and in need of a serious update. Having said that, it had one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever had in a hotel. Some mildew in the bathroom. I hope the owners find a way to update this hotel. I would love to visit it again.

Good location otherwise disappointing
On balance, I was disappointed. The photos flatter the rooms, there’s no complimentary water in the rooms (meaning I had to go out and find somewhere at 11pm because I arrived late) but worse of all, they don’t have porters so I had to drag three cases and a backpack from the taxi to the room. I did use the trolley but it’s not what you expect for how much this hotel costs. Same story when I left, nobody to help. I stored my stuff for a few hours and had to laugh when the reception woman left my cases by reception - didn’t even help me take them to the door. All in all, not very hospitable or helpful! Best thing about the hotel: the view from the roof (photos below).

Nice hotel in the Rocks with so many great French Bakeries many restaurants. So close to Harbor Bridge. Opera House, Botanical Gardens & steps from Overseas Cruise Terminal. Will be back for sure.

Historic Hotel with Space and a Great Location
Have stayed at this hotel as a Holiday Inn and now the Sydney Harbour Hotel. It has always been a great location for our wonderings. It is a short level surface walk minutes away from excellent restaurants, historic locations, The Rocks Museum, week end street fair, Circular Quay with trains and ferries to other locations such as the Blue Mountains, Manly, Hop On/Off bus, shops both unique and touristy. The hotel is designated as historic. For a country's capital city, the hotel is very spacious with a TV/refrig cabinet, a desk, and spacious closet and chairs for sitting. The only "negative" is a bit of precision knob turning to get the separate handles adjusted when it is just right coming out of the single faucet. We will be staying here on our next trip, the sixth one, when we return to Sydney.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the Sydney harbor close to many good restaurants, transportation, shopping, cruise terminal, and tourist attractions. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and professional. The cost of the stay is a great value considering the location and service. We would certainly stay here again when we visit this great city.

The area around the hotel was historic and interesting. You could walk to the Opera house, botanical gardens, the quay for boat tours. It is a really good location. The courtyard to the hotel is really attractive. I loved the circular look. Our room was adequately supplied but very dated with old scuffed furniture and an damm chair that would not fit under the desk so it just kept getting in the way. As I am typing this I realize I should have checked to see if I could have manually lowered it..oh well. The breakfast was really good, staff helpful and pleasant. Did not swim in the pool, but it has a fantastic view. Great for photos. Instead of my credit card, I accidentally used my debit card for the security deposit, so the deposit was immediately withdrawn from my bank account as a debit purchase. I wanted a refund right away so it could be done correctly but I was unable to convince the staff that it was wrong. It was repeated to me over and over again that the funds were on hold and would be released back to me. Well they were not on hold it was a purchase that was withdrawn from my bank account. It has only been 2 days since I checked out but I sure hope I get a refund for that security deposit. The cards look so similar…..

If you’re looking for accomodation near the Sydney opera house or the ferry’s but not looking for a 5 star hotel this is the place to go. Clean tidy bedroom, standard facility. Great location but not a delux hotel
