I booked an animal view room however we could not see any animals from our room. There were 3 fenced sections and each has 4 rooms in it and each section has only 1 koala. So we were no able to see any animals from the room. When i asked one of the rangers about the animal, she said that 1 koala is places between 4-5 rooms. This basically means if you are lucky enough for a koala to sit in one of the trees in front of your rooms, you’ll see it otherwise you will miss out. Very disappointed at the animal view room. The only thing good about paying so much is that all proceeds go towards the animals

Unique hotel experience—we would have loved to have stayed longer. Our room overlooked the sanctuary area of the zoo and we watched a koala, echidnas, wallabies and other wildlife from our room. The rate included a tour of the sanctuary, which was excellent, entry to the zoo, parking, and a lovely breakfast buffet in the stunning Ma Gel restaurant. Service was excellent, staff members were friendly and helpful, the zoo is wonderful and bed was comfortable. A beautifully appointed room and special experience.

Staffs are super friendly and helpful. The room is beyond expectations (Treetop) You can enjoy walking around the zoo on the daytime and don't forget experience a nightwalk zoo tour after closeing hour (must try!) Excellent buffet breakfast, Dinner is average as what you pay for and not many choices (but you can order delivery from other sources outside) It's a great experience overall.

Lovely stay and beautiful facility. I was thinking it would be more like a refuge/safari type experience than a zoo so that was pretty disappointing, but we did have a koala right outside our window in the morning that made the stay worth every penny. He was so fun to watch play in the trees. The views from this property… especially in the lobby and dinning room are to die for. Would be the perfect spot to ring in the New Year and enjoy the full harbor view! Breakfast was fairly simple but good. Beds were comfy and clean. Overall, just lovely especially if you’re a young family spending lots of time at the zoo. The only thing that could have made it better is a pool or hot tub on property!

This was our second stay and the receptionist Francine welcomed us like long lost family. We had arrived early to drop off our luggage but were able to check into our room immediately. Details on the Wildlife Retreat dining, tours, zoo pass and transportation enabled us to make the most of this unique place. Our room was well appointed, decor fitting in aboriginal design, bed very comfortable and the bonus of the three kangaroos outside our window that we could watch as they went about their day. Breakfast & dinner in the dining room with the best view of the Inner Harbour is one of many of the reasons for our return. Thanks to Cameron for driving us to the ferry and the very informative guides for the after hours zoo tours. The.best place ever!

This place was hands down amazing! Waking up every morning to see a koala bear out your window just brings happiness to your heart. The staff was kind and amazing. Having the zoo at your finger tips was the best. Worth every penny.

Fun start to our Sydney vacation.

So much fun! Woke up to a koala hanging out in the tree in front of our room each am. Great guest-only zoo night tour. Super Breakfast buffet. Traveled with 2 20 yo kids. They loved it too.

Unique hotel experience in the heart of Sydney!

A beautiful use of Sydney harbor and within the zoo. Koala’s right outside your room balcony. Can’t beat this hotel!! No downtown hotel compares. I would recommend it to anyone who plans a trip to Sydney.
