Great hotel in a wonderful part of town.
Great hotel, very clean, everything worked. Could not be more pleased. Walking distance to multiple restaurants and breweries. We highly recommend it

Hotel Slyva was perfect in every way. Really liked this hotel the first time i stayed, but not as much the second time. First room they tried to put me in was tiny and overlooked a stairwell and garbage. I kepy trying to check into the wrong room the second room they put me in so it took a fee tries. HVAC was really loud. Frig smelled. I would have stayed another night, but wasn't feeling it.

Amazing Gem in Sylva NC

It is on a busy street so there was street noise but it was convenient and right across the street from the county courthouse which was beautifully decorated for Christmas!

Small town at its best!!
Amazing little hotel with a great view of Downtown Sylva. Easy walk to dining and shops. Great service they even called us after hours when we needed to add a night.

Nice Hotel
Really nice hotel that seems to have been recently renovated. We love the NC mountain towns and this was our first time spending a few days in Sylva. It’s right downtown so you can easily walk to the stores. Only issue we had was the downstairs neighbor was a bit sketchy. Cars and people showing up at all times of the day and night, going in and out of the room. Hotel staff addressed it quickly and professionally which we appreciated.

It's not the first time staying there and I was disappointed this time because when it was time to shower (around 10 pm) I found several hairs in the shower, which is very disgusting to me. Also, the light (which was off) in the bathroom began to flicker and was hard to fall asleep, even with the closed door. I eventually fell asleep and when I woke up the light was fine, so I did not say anything about because it was no longer doing it. I really enjoy the area and always stay here, but my expectations were not met this time around. Next time I'll make it a point to inspect the room as soon as I arrive so that I can notify the front desk of any issues.

The other place I usually stay at has pillows I don't like so I bring my own, and the heater/AC unit is very loud, and I've found bugs, and the carpet is a bit ragged. In contrast, Hotel Sylva's bed and pillows are very comfortable and the heater/AC unit is quiet, and no bugs and no carpet. My parking space to the ground floor room made "moving in" very quick and easy. I didn't watch TV, but I turned it on before I left and it looked like there are a lot of viewing options and a quality TV. I was impressed with the black "Makeup" cloths. I usually bring my own because I hate to leave makeup on white cloths at hotels. It is nice not to have to travel home with a wet cloth. The coffee in the lobby smelled good. They don't have someone in the lobby 24 hours per day. The worst part of my stay was exiting the parking lot. Because of a parked truck, there was absolutely no line of sight for any oncoming traffic in the one-way Mill Street. One has to turn left. Earlier in the morning, I heard a long car horn blow, so someone may have had the same problem and almost had an accident. We tried out the rocking chairs which were great. There are pretty rose bushes to look at. Know there is some road noise, and the view for some rooms is of parked vehicles. I wish the parking spaces next to the hotel (reserved lot for Fusion) were available at night. Yet, this is a nice place to stay.

My only complaint was the shower water pressure which I feel is pretty typical for hotels. The room was gorgeous, beds and pillows were super comfy. They had a lock box for me to pick up my key since after hours and it didn’t work, I contacted the after hours and within 10 minutes I was in my room. I will definitely be staying again if I’m in need of a room in the area.

Cramped but comfortable
The room was a little cramp but otherwise comfortable. Needed a bigger refrigerator and getting the hot water in the shower faster would have been great. I am just used to having hot water in seconds rather than minutes. The little round table was in the way more than anything else.

Hotel Sylva is a hidden gem. Never felt more welcome or had the best experience from a hotel before. I wish this was a chain so I could take them everywhere I go
