I've stayed here 7 different nights ( always 1 night ) and have always enjoyed it. However on night 6 & 7, it became abundantly clear that this property has changed. The biggest and most obvious change, to us, is the front desk team. Previously it seemed that the front desk was more friendly and cheerful in previous visits.The new crop, not so much. They come off as agressive in a way. Apologies if this seems like a petty complaint, but the experience is real. Also, after 4 years visiting, I see no improvements to the establishment. The lounge, a once favorite place if mine for paid solitude and imbibement has turned into a carnival of guests who dont pay and converse loudly.

The hotel is in a quiet part of Takayama but within easy walking distance of plenty of bars and eateries and the ‘old town’ area with great craft and local goods shops. Facilities are clean and our room was recently renovated. A great Onsen.

Loved this hotel! Room was bigger than expected (Deluxe Hollywood Room) and was very clean. Check-in/out was easy with friendly and professional staff available to assist. Breakfast had a good variety of food. Main attractions were within walking distance (10-20 mins walk). Public transportation nearby (10 mins walk). Wish we stayed longer than one night for greater use of the facilities. Would definitely stay here again.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very clean, the staff was incredible, private onsen was very cool. We got laundry done which was huge, the breakfast was delicious. Easy distance from Takayama station and not too far a walk to the historical district.
