"We had a very pleasant two day stay at The Blacksmiths Arms. The staff were friendly and kind and we had some delicious food, particularly the breakfasts which were delicious and very large plates full."

"Swallow Cottage is in a great location for exploring Cumbria and Northumberland. We had a lovely stay in a comfortable and very clean cottage. The owner was fabulous when we had a small issue and responded straight away. We'd definitely stay here again"

"The property was just as described and as seen in the pictures. It was very well curated and clean with all the amenities you needed. It was a pleasure to look out of the window and see the lake right there and be able to walk and run from the door. We had come to relax, bike, walk some of Hadrian's wall, explore the area and to do lake swimming. (Unfortunately the country park had not yet opened the lake for this... however the water quality was not great for swimming if you are considering this as an option). David, the owner was responsive to an issue we had while we were there. One negative was the lack of communication between VRBO and the owners ( they had not received the information we had requested on our vrbo booking.) Other than that, overall the property was lovely and a pleasure to stay in and we had a great time away."

"Lovely quite country location, off-street parking & all the comforts of home. Near train station if public transport is required, however noise from trains was not an issue. 'The stables is ideal for a couple with small kitchen if wanting to cook."
