The toilet was broken, this was repaired. There was construction work going on outside the hotel, despite being high up, the noise was such that I did not sleep for the 2 nights I was there. I asked for another room, I was told that I would be moved, this did not happen. I asked for a cappuccino coffee at breakfast, I was told, No, it was not included. I explained all of this to the duty manager, who said she would write to me, it did not happen. I had to call over a week later as ask to speak to someone else, before I got any response. This is not what I would expect from a hotel that says it is a 5 star hotel.

Pool is on 4th floor away from street noise. Pool bathroom was very dirty/messy on Thursday night, trash can was full. The next morning the bathroom was still in the same condition with trash still full. "Chief" Jerdee in the main dinning rm was very rude to me. Bed in room is very hard. Bed skirt was very soiled with what looked like a white bodily fluid substance. Mold in shower is very prevalent. There are not enough power outlets in the room. The fitness center need wipes not alcohol spray and paper towels Equipment is old and outdated. Towels smell bad, moldy. Wifi is not covered in fitness center. Attendant told me to go closer to “hotspot” near window. The only hotspot working is in pool area The hotel uses bamboo straws, when I asked for a straw the bartender walked off and returned with one. I believe she had to get one from the lobby bar. The straw didn’t look new. When I asked her, she said “they’re reused and we use proper sanitation”. The bar charges for separately for orange juice in a Vodka OJ drink. I spoke with manager, Arnel about these issues, he assured me he would work on them.

Out of the all the places we stayed in the Philippines, Marco Polo beats them all. Excellent service, food was phenomenal. And the staff was just superb! They took care of all our needs. Very friendly customer service. From the moment they picked us up from the airport up to our check out, I can’t remember any negative thing to say. We felt very safe in the hotel. Thank you so much!
