Uneasy in neighborhood
We arrived at the property feeling uneasy about the surrounding neighborhood, which is economically depressed. We could see vagrant / un-homed people sleeping behind shopping carts within sight of the driveway. There were more groups of vagrant / un-homed males just around the corner from the property. I was traveling with my children alone. I did not feel safe staying in this property. I contacted the owner to inform him that I would not be staying for my reservation due to feeling unsafe in the neighborhood. I asked the owner to consider refunding the cleaning fee only, since we would not be using the space and didn't even enter the home. He refused to refund the cleaning fee even though he would not have to have the property cleaned. The owner admitted that previous guest had the same concerns upon arrival.
