The staff were friendly and helpful. All was clean and in good order. There wasn't a lot of lighting in the room at night. The airport shuttle isn't available during off-hours but staff kindly got me an inexpensive taxi that showed up on time.

I love this hotel in Tampico. We found it 25 years ago before the area was all built up. Even with the business of the surrounding area, the hotel remains a peaceful retreat with a beautiful garden and pool with birds and nature abounding. There is a full service restaurant with a great breakfast and it serves dinner until about 10 or 11. Even though the rooms are a little older, they are nice and the bed is very comfortable. The Posada de Tampico is convenient to the airport and to shopping and the hotel always welcomes us. Their staff is very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is always our first and last stop when we travel in Mexico.

Good and not so Good
In general the receiving, halls and room looks good and well maintained but the issue is the water is very cold, no hot water, also the water was slow to drain out of the sink, the AC/Heater control looks like is not working, it was blowing air All the time but I changed the settings to have a more comfortable temperature but that never changed.
