You will have all the comforts of home in the fully furnished apartment. Built in 2009, Thistle Dew Guest House is a post and beam beauty with wood floors, large windows, comfortable beds and a huge deck for enjoying life. There is a stair way (13 steps) leading up to the apartment from the outside or the garage. The kitchen is fully outfitted right down to the spices. The living room has wood floors and large windows for enjoying the views of the Grand, the Middle and the South Teton and the backside of Grand Teton National Park.
The master bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and the second bedroom has a comfortable Murphy Bed with a queen mattress When not in use the bed can be lifted up into the wall unit and the room turns into an office space complete with a large desk. The living area has a TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime. There is wi-fi throughout the guest house. Ski storage is in the entry on the main level.
Right off the deck is a hot tub with a view of the Tetons.
The sauna was built in the Swedish style with interior rock walls and steaming wood stove. It is shared with Thistledew cabin.
There is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and telling stories close to the guest house.
The kids bunkhouse is a great space for kids to play or teenagers to hang out in their own space.
Thistle Dew Guest House sits in the middle of 80 secluded acres surrounded by gorgeous mountain views and alfalfa hay farms. Access is from a paved road 5 miles North of Driggs, Idaho. The guest house is available all year round so our guests can enjoy all the seasons of this spectacular area.
Thistle Dew Cabin shares the property. Although visible from the shared driveway, the cabin and guest house are totally separate; each with their own entrance, yard, hot tub, firepit and indoor space but sharing the same view.
In the summer you can be adventurous and hike (or horse back ride) the many trails connecting the foothills to Grand Teton National Park or go fishing on some of the West's premier fishing rivers. All are within a few miles of Thistle Dew Guest House. You can easily explore the wonders of Yellowstone National Park (only 90 miles north) or Grand Teton National Park (75 minutes East in Wyoming). Jackson Hole, Wyoming is 60 minutes away with some great shopping, excellent music from the Summer Music Festival and diverse restaurants. There are 3 world class fishing rivers within an hour of Thistledew Guest house. Plus the Teton River (15 minutes away) is also a great place to float with tubes or SUP.
In winter, after a day of powder skiing Grand Targhee Ski area, (most winters have over 600 inches of snow) come home to your comfortable apartment and enjoy a barbecue. Or appreciate the convenience of a day of cross country skiing the trails of Jedediah Smith Wilderness within a couple of miles from your mountain retreat. Snowmobiling is offered in the Big Hole mountains to the west of the guest house or an hour north in Island Park.
The town of Driggs is 5 miles down a good paved road. Driggs is the outdoor adventure capital of the area. It boasts great stores, wonderful restaurants and a modern, full service grocery store. Farmer's Markets (Friday mornings except winter) , a balloon festival, scenic running, bike, and ski trails, Friday night rodeo action, Music on Main, and winter snow sculptures all make the town of Driggs a fun place to visit.
