Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Room was large with a comfortable bed, a coffee table and 2 chairs, a dressing table and bath with shower overhead. All very clean. Housekeeping replaced towels & made the bed. Room had a safe but this appeared not to work. An iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. We were on the 3rd floor so room was warm but a fan was provided in the room. The lift was out of action. We used the swimming pool and towels were provided. You do need a £1 coin for the lockers. Breakfast was very fresh, hot and lots of choice. We ate dinner the 1st night which was nice. We would recommend this hotel.

Couldn't see where the refit money had been spent, apart from the new floor in the bar. Someone pocketed a lot of money. Lifts not working. 2020/21 this was one our favourite hotels, but looks like the Newbury Hilton from now on August, England, 2024 and you could only get wifi in the reception/bar area. If you need wifi for work, conference calls etc, then forget it. On the plus side, the staff were lovely.

Calling in some places are showing damp issues, no air conditioning in the rooms .. the room we was in was near the heated swimming pool and sauna.. so our room was very uncomfortable.. the images on the website must of been taken 20 plus years ago as it does not look like this now.. Wi-Fi is rubbish, staff was very apologetic, the manager was useless and rude .. will not be staying here again

Lovely hotel stay at a good price
Lovely hotel stay at a good price. The hotel has an inviting visual appearance, staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable, with a desk, and tea making facilities. The restaurant was clean and well presented and service was to a good standard. The food though quite pricey was of very good quality. Breakfast offered a good selection of choice of a good standard. The swimming pool and spa facilities were clean and a nice addition. Overall a lovely hotel that was good value for money

No air conditioning in any of the rooms that they advertise saying they have .. on the left wing of the hotel near the heated swimming pool and Saunders the rooms are unbelievable hot and with no aircon in the rooms you will have trouble getting a good nights sleep.. most staff try to help but the manager was quite rude at the start not helping with the situation.. there solution is .. will refund you if you don’t like our service.. and that was from the manager .. plus the WiFi is poor and lifts are out service. Looks to me the hotel is running down and the photos displayed is no way what the hotel looks like now.. very disappointed

Great hotel
Enjoyed our stay. Room was excellent and a huge bed!!! We had to attend a funeral the following day so it was really close and convenient for us. Loved the hotel so much, we decided we may come and stay longer to explore the locality which was my childhood home area. Only minor issue or suggestions would be that especially in this recent hot weather, supply of a couple of small bottles of water in the in room fridge would be a nice touch for what they cost, and most hotels now supply tissues in the room. Otherwise no issues. 5 star!!
