Nice Cabin & Great Location
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for- rustic, recreational things to do, located on a great piece of property, and very close to Crystal Mountain. It was very clean upon check in (hand towels in the bathrooms would have been appreciated) and had plenty of room for our group of ten to hang out together. The only part we were not impressed with was the 10:00 checkout time (the earliest I have ever encountered) and the response from Vacasa when inquiring about a later checkout. Having paid a lot of money (VRBO would not allow me to state the final cost) for two nights after fees and taxes, being told we would have to pay extra for a late checkout came across as chintzy. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the cabin.

30th Birthday with Family
Celebrated a 30th birthday and had a great time. The house and property were beautiful. Loved using the hot tub, pool table, grill, fire-pit, and variety of games there. House was big and nicely decorated. We tented ATV’s close by and had a blast, went fishing, and even daw a deer stroll by down by the river. Would stay here again!

Perfect for out Family
This is our second year staying at this lovely log cabin and it is so perfect for our family! We have 3 kids, my husband and I and a set of grandparents and everybody has a perfect spot. Bonus that it’s just around the corner from the ski slopes makes it the perfect location! We’ll be back next year!

Beautiful and clean property.
My family including two young boys loved the stay. It was clean, stocked, and had a quiet, peaceful setting. The stairs out back lead down to the Betsie River. We went about 30 minutes to the dunes, and it was an easy drive. It’s a beautiful area.

Best Cabin Ever!
We absolutely loved Staying at Salmon Run this last weekend over Easter. We were blessed with beautiful weather and enjoyed building a campfire, swinging on the swing, grilling out and checking out the river. At night we enjoyed darts, pool, the fire and the kids loved the multiple TVs and Alexa!! So many things to do here and plenty of things we just ran out of time to enjoy! There was plenty of room for all of us and we easily could have hosted another family at the same time as there are plenty of sleeping options! Thanks for a great Easter getaway!

Excellent cabin getaway!
Stunning log cabin! Upon walking in, it just absolutely takes your breath away. Beautiful kitchen, nice relaxing fireplace (duraflame only). We walked down to the river and around the property. Master bathroom was fantastic. Only issue was with property management company, on calling them regarding minor issue, received a text message in response about four hours later, which I did not see as I was driving. But minor issue was resolved without problem!

Salmon Run on the Betsie River
We had a great time at Salmon Run. The log cabin is gorgeous. Some of the logs came from the property, which makes the cabin extra special. Crystal Mountain can be seen when looking out from the back deck. One night the lights from one of the ski runs were on and they were making snow to form the base for this winter’s ski season. You can also see the Betsie River from the back deck. It is a good hike down the stairs to the River, but worth it. We played pool and foosball in the lower level and watched some movies from their dvd collection. We also had a fire in the fireplace (Duralogs only) one night. One can spend a week just admiring the craftsmanship of the cabin. Locally, even with coronavirus restrictions, we went to the Laughing Horse Saloon for dinner, a very nice place with good food and only a few minutes drive. My one brother in law wanted to try mead, St Ambrose Winery nearby was perfect. They have several meads, wine and beer to try. No tours or tasting with the quarantine, but we sat on the patio and tried a flight of their meads, very good. An hours drive north is Elk Rapids. We went to Pearls New Orleans Kitchen twice during our stay for lunch. The food is excellent. Shorts microbrewery is a half hour from Elk Rapids and is worth the trip for the beer drinkers. They have grown since I was there about 5 years ago. We finished our one trip to Elk Rapids and Bellaire (Shorts), with a stop in Traverse City at Hopscotch Brick Oven pizzeria. The pizza there is very good. The 3 of us each tried a different personal pizza, then took 2 more to go, cold pizza can be very good for breakfast. All the places we went to practiced safety measures due to the coronavirus and the wait staffs were great people. If you are thinking of spending any time up north I would highly recommend a stay at Salmon Run for any season.

Great stay in a log home at a beautiful setting in northern Michigan
My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and to escape the world for a little while. The idea of a log cabin with a fireplace somewhere in the woods was the only target. This location greatly exceeded our expectations. It is a modern log home with top end features, but still with a homey / cozy feel. It is on a fantastic wooded lot overlooking a meandering river. The leaves were at peak color and the days were crisp so sitting in front of the fireplace on the comfortable furniture was perfect. We drove around the area visiting Lake Michigan and some of the surrounding cities. We had fun picking up pebbles and rocks at Point Betsie Lighthouse near Franklin and had several great meals nearby. You can't go wrong for a light meal and drinks at the Iron Fish Distillery only 2 miles away. We can't wait to return here some day with a bigger crew when the salmon are running in the river. We only missed it by a month on this trip, but the videos of people catching salmon on the Betsie looks exciting.

Everything a log cabin should be
Charming, secluded, woodsy with all the amenities (except good movie channels) a family needs. But you’re not in this area for TV...walk to river is possible with some steep steps, very comfy beds, great porches, very clean, secure, shady (hardly any sunny areas if you are looking for that), cant burn firewood in FP (only Duralogs-bummer) on a dirt road and easy to find. Some restaurants in area were not “Covid 19 friendly” so be aware. Excellent experience-met my expectations.

Wonderful week in an unusual year.
Our cottage is in Canada and we can’t get there due to the current travel restrictions, so we decided to rent this year. The cabin is beautiful and everyone seemed to sleep like babies while we were there. We loved sitting on the deck solving the problems of the world, and the kids has a blast swinging on the swing and heading down to the river to explore. The location was great, we went to Crystal Mountain, tubbed the Platte and headed to Traverse City to explore during our stay. We had a wonderful time relaxing and exploring.

This place is absolutely amazing. The pictures just don’t do this beautiful home justice. We had 8 women with us on our stay and had plenty of room for everyone. The rental agency was not the most pleasant to work with but everything turned out to be perfect! We had sent a few questions to the rental agency with no response until the day of our stay. We’ll definitely be returning to this beautiful home! Thank you for having us!
