The facility was nice, BUT check-in time was 3:00. We arrived at 4:00 and our room hadn't been cleaned. We were told that we would have to sit in the lobby and wait for at least 30 minutes. We were not offered a another room. When I asked if we could get a different room, the room we were given was not a corner room like we had reserved and it was much smaller.. Also, because the room was smaller, it had a queen bed instead of a king bed like we had reserved. All of these shortcomings would have been acceptable, EXCEPT that when I asked if the price would be adjusted, I was told told "no". Some smaller issues were that the lock on our room door did not work - we had to pile our suitcases in front of the door for security. Also, at night, the lock on the main access door to the lobby was stuck so everyone had to walk around to an alternate door. Breakfast was very plain for a hotel that's rated at 9.0.

What a beautiful, historic property! We stayed at the Courthouse for a couple of days while visiting Thunder Bay and loved it. Comfortable room. Beautiful view.

Nice to have a view of the lake. We did not. Staff supplied us w stuff we needed that was not in the room. The breakfast was good. You may laugh. But the sausages where the highlight. We really enjoyed our stay.

The serving/ housekeeping staff were very abrupt with us. There was leftover food in the breakfast room at 8 pm when we checked in, and a banquet hall had dirty dishes and food still there in the morning. Our room was very clean, spacious and had nice amenities.

Our room was not ready by check in time but I have to say our room was incredible! Even in the lower level! The hotel has not been renovated to its design potential in the lobby and the grounds and the acces/naming/availability of public areas. So much more could be done to make this an exceptional destination. That said. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and quiet and we would stay again.

Beautiful building. When I went to check in for some reason they had cancelled my reservation. Gentleman at the desk was wonderful fixing everything. The rooms don’t feel sound proofed well. I could hear the people above stomping around all night. Would stay again!
