One of our rooms was smelly and very small.the shower tray got fluded.
Asked for room to be changed told all rooms taken .
Changed tge next day.
There was no Disabled parking facility .Had to park on the street and walk to the hotel .one coach took the entire section of the car park not good at all .
The restaurant food was excellent.
Really cannot fault this hotel. The location was convenient for the NC500, the room was clean and comfortable and everything was in good condition. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Both the food and the service in the restaurant were excellent. They were very dog friendly and the price for both the room and the food was surprisingly reasonable. Very impressed.
Just back from 5 night stay in Castletown Hotel which was comfortable with friendly efficient staff.
Meals were nutritious & delicious!
Only complaint would be over the weekend when breakfast not up to their usual standard …no bowls, fresh fruit not replenished & no orange juice. A poor show as weekday breakfasts were excellent!
Very convenient one night stay on our road trip of North Scotland and Orkney. Very pleasant welcome and stay. Food is excellent!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Property is in a great location, close to everything. Hotel is dated and super hot. But overall it met our needs and we had a good dinner at the restaurant on site.
Rooms very dated, hot water only trickles in peak demand practically no pressure this is after you had a work out turning incredibly stiff hot and cold tap knobs.
Locks on windows don’t work and are in a very poor condition.
Had to sleep on top of the duvet over night because the spring mattress was so incredibly worn that we could feel every spring digging into our ribs.
Ps. Be aware that their double rooms are only two single beds pushed together.
Will not be coming back here again.
Absolute rip off for the condition of the room.
Stayed here for a 3 nights Friday night check out Monday, whatever you do DONT GET room 18. Upgraded to have a bit of a treat after driving for 12 hours, outside the room is smoking corner so as it’s warm we had the window open and unfortunately had smokers outside. They set the fire alarm off Friday night at 4 am, and were falling against the window Saturday around 2 am. Food is good £60 - £100 however the chef must have changed throughout as the food was fantastic Friday and Saturdays and then Sunday we thought we would have steak and for £25 quid each it was awful, cooked as asked but was quantity of meat of quality. Same with staffing there was a fantastic ginger girl who honestly could run the place. Knew every alternative drink and have great service nothing was to much and made up for the poor start. But when she was off, being served a steak and having no cutlery when we asked took 10 minutes and the same girl asked what our drink order was. Food had gone Cold and in the end we just wanted out
Bedroom was serviced everyday which was great, but for the price the pillows were lumpy and the mattress was solid. A real shame because we have stayed in the other hotels in the group and this just doesn’t meet the standards.
Superior room is not superior at all a slightly nicer chair is about it.
