i managed my expectations about mexico (i'm traveling from the USA), so for the price i paid...i definitely got it. there were basic things that were lacking (coffee table, towel rack, etc) but it had the essentials (bed, towels, toiletries, etc). the door key is OG metal, and gets stuck in the door all the time...in fact, the door itself sticks and you have to slam it shut (sorry neighbors). other reviews said they had staff break into their rooms and steal, which i (thankfully) did not experience. the location is 10/10, but the building is in poor condition and the staff are completely inept. took me 2 hours to check-in my room due to hurry up and wait by dumb and dumberers. cleaning staff did a great job considering we had 2 dogs - they swept and mopped everyday, and kept the towels and toiletries stocked. food at the on-site restaurant was pretty tasty, although overpriced for mexico and one night made me sick. restaurant staff are also always sitting around doing nothing. service for the overall place = 0. i hear there are "nicer" places to stay, but for a long weekend it wasn't the worst. i felt safe and it was quiet and convenient, with security and 2 private beaches. not sure if i would stay again, but definitely not my first choice.

This property was under construction, the rims have been renovated but by non professionals. Missing the extras like a hair dryer. Room was clean and staff was very hospitable. Food was excellent and service at restraint and bar was very good. Just make sure reservations and number of people I. The rooms are accurate they check and charge for any extra people or guests. Also hard key with a deposit and paper slip that you need to have to check out. Was a pain for no reason. Note take a cab everywhere outside of hotel cheap and easy to just flag down on the street. All in all I’d say nice room for a deal just go with expectations.

When we arrived, the reception was closed, so we had to collect our key from security at the entrance. The weather was cold, and we didn’t have access to the heater because the reception is responsible for providing the heater and TV remotes to guests. Security was kind enough to offer us one blanket when we needed two (for a two-bedroom unit). Unfortunately, the room was not clean. There was a lot of hair on the floor, multiple used tooth floss picks near the TV stand, and dirty ear swabs near the toilet. Additionally, there was construction happening right outside our room, which was extremely noisy and inconvenient. The next morning, when I went to the reception, I was asked for a $40 cash deposit. This was not mentioned anywhere in the Expedia listing or the reservation confirmation. Thankfully, I had cash with me, but if I hadn’t, I’m not sure how I would have handled the situation. On a positive note, the reservation included complimentary breakfast, which was quite decent, and the ocean view from the room was lovely. Overall, there were several issues that impacted our stay, and I hope these concerns are addressed for future guests.

Castillos was outdated. I personally had a bad experience. No hot water, some staff was rude. I got sick from food. Water pressure for shower was non existant. Only thing i liked was the view. I told receptionist girl, she was a young lady, that i would be giving a bad review. I even paid more for an upgrade hoping room (suite) would be more up to date. I took photos but this site wont allow me to upload them

We got there and the power did not work in our room. Very disappointed that they did not call and tell us this ahead of time. We were given another less desirable room that had power but no WiFi nor TV. It took two days to get our original room. They did not offer and anything for our inconvience. Great View. Limited number of towels in the room. No wash cloth. No table or chairs in the substituted room. Hopefully we receive a discount considering the room the put us in rate is lower than the rate of the one we reserved. Nice people. Curious staff. Great view of the ocean. Small cafe with decent food and great view right on the ocean

We booked 3 nights for my partner’s birthday. As soon as we checked in, we had to request a different room because the room we were given has no air conditioner. Bathroom floor is wet. Big post blocking tv when watching from bed. No phone to call front desk. Went to front desk and was offered to upgrade to the Jacuzzi room for additional $66 for a night. Took the offer. Filled jacuzzi with water then turned on jets. OMG! Black stuff came out of the jets. Fortunately, we haven’t gone in the tub yet. We drained it and spent a good hour cleaning it. Filled it up again and turned on the jets. The same thing. We didn’t get to use the jacuzzi so the following day, we complained and demanded a refund of the $66. We were told they can’t do it in their system and that I just have to file a dispute with my credit card, which is what I will do. The bad experience didn’t end there. They moved us to a different room. This was our 2nd day. But right after we moved around 10:00 am, power went out. We thought maybe it won’t last long but when we came back in the evening, there was still no power. They moved us to another room where there’s electricity, our 4th room already by then. The problem was that their wifi wasn’t working since the power outage. That meant no internet and no tv because their tv relies on an internet connection. So for 3 days, we had no internet and no tv. They also give you free breakfast but you can’t choose. We ate chilaquiles for breakfast for 3 consecutive morning.
