Location and Area Nestled at the head of the tranquil Trebarwith Valley, just below a serene narrow lane leading to Trebarwith Strand beach, a mere five minutes' drive away, this charming traditional cottage exudes timeless allure. With its retained character and appeal, this semi-detached cottage is thoughtfully equipped, offering snug and inviting accommodation throughout the year. Situated in a sheltered spot, it's a haven for warmth and comfort. The Port William Inn, as well as the sandy beach and captivating rock pools of Trebarwith Strand, are conveniently located 1 mile by road or a leisurely 10-minute walk via a scenic footpath. Meanwhile, the 18th-century Mill House Inn beckons a mere 1/4 mile downhill. Just 1 mile from the cottage lies Tintagel, boasting an array of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Here, you can explore the renowned ruins of Tintagel Castle and Merlin’s sea cave, all while relishing spectacular coastal walks in the immediate vicinity. Tintagel itself offers a delightful assortment of high-quality dining options, including Cornish pubs and charming cafes along its bustling main street. You'll also discover two convenient stores, a delightful bakery, numerous pasty shops, a fish and chip shop, and a pharmacy. The awe-inspiring scenery and coastline surrounding Tintagel beckon exploration, unveiling hidden gems like the secluded cove at Bossiney. A few miles along the road, you'll find the harbour village of Boscastle, known for its striking landscapes, picturesque harbour, and welcoming pubs perfect for leisurely hours. Inside, a cosy sitting room awaits on one side, featuring a small television, a characterful low board and beam ceiling, and comfortable seating arranged around the wood-burning stove. Adjacent to the sitting room, you'll find a well-equipped, beamed kitchen/dining room, complete with an oil-fired Rayburn stove that remains operational year-round for cooking, providing background warmth, and hot water, complemented by an electric hob as a backup. Kitchen amenities include a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, electric hob, microwave, and washing machine. A series of three steps lead from the kitchen to a utility room, a cloakroom with a small hand basin, and further to a ground-floor bedroom with a 2ft 6in single bed. A door from this bedroom opens onto a petite rear patio. At the cottage's front, a white-painted garden room, adorned with cane furniture and house plants, captures the afternoon sun, and provides access to a level terrace. On the opposite side of the footpath, a couple of steps ascend to a slate-paved barbecue area, affording splendid views over Trebarwith Valley and featuring a convenient outdoor shower. Fairly steep stairs ascend from the dining area to access two bedrooms: a master bedroom with a double bed offering scenic countryside views, and a second bedroom furnished with twin beds and a vanity unit. The bathroom, accessible through either bedroom and a low doorway, encompasses a WC, hand basin, shower over the bath, and an airing cupboard housing an immersion heater. Heating for this property is provided through night storage units. It's important to note that changes in floor levels, steep stairs, and low beams require caution, particularly for elderly guests and toddlers. One large or two small dogs are welcome but must strictly adhere to our Pet Policy. Across the footpath, a few steps ascend to a slate-paved barbecue area, offering delightful views over Trebarwith Valley, along with a convenient outdoor shower for your use. Garden furniture is thoughtfully provided for your comfort. Reserved parking available for one vehicle. The best holiday
Rose cottage was the best location we could walk to pubs beaches and Tintagel, it was so quiet and close to the costal path we had a really fantastic week !
