South Swell (formerly Blue Heron Guest House) is a 3 bedroom custom built home overlooking Jensen's Bay in Tofino. Exceptional wood detailing, skylights, vaulted ceilings, private hot tub, outdoor hot water shower and gas fireplace.

An inlet waterfront retreat situated on 1.5 acres and an easy, 5 minute walk from South Chesterman Beach.

A seating area at water's edge is a great place enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the early morning and a perfect vantage point for sighting eagles, herons and other bird species. Occasionally you may spot a bear foraging across the tidal flats.

Guest House includes a well stocked kitchen and pantry offering a wide variety of oils/vinegars & spices. Drip coffee maker (coffee and filters supplied), French press and espresso machine with beans grinder available.

Towering cedars complement the property. Nearby Chesterman Beach is ideal for surfing, exploring, beach combing, dog walks or an early evening stroll to take in the iconic West Coast sunsets.

Tofino is 5km away and accessed by road or a well maintained, paved, multi-use path. The path connects Tofino and the town of Ucluelet and provides ready access to beaches and Pacific Rim National Park.

Just up the road (1184 Pacific Rim Hwy) is a collection of shops for groceries, yoga, surf rentals, great local food (Wildside Grill & Tacofino), coffee/espresso/baked goods (The Tofitian) and chocolate .....Tofino style.

The town of Tofino is a short drive (5 km) so a car would be ideal. In summer, a free (and surfboard friendly!) shuttle service runs between Tofino and Cox Bay. You can hop on and off at several points along the route, including 2 stops close by.

This rental is perfect for a quiet retreat or family vacation - ideally suited for 4-6 guests.

The Most Amazing Home

I'm not sure I can think of enough superlatives to describe this home. I travel full-time, so I stay in a lot of short-term rentals, and this one shines above the rest. The host has thought of everything a guest could possibly need and has provided it. The home is beautifully designed and stocked without feeling cluttered. There are several very nice mid-century modern furniture pieces. The beds are comfortable. The location is absolutely stunning. The home sits on a very quiet street, and the yard backs up to the inlet making for a perfect peaceful forest retreat. To sit out back and watch the sandpipers come in to hunt for dinner as the tide goes out is pure bliss. Highly recommend.

Spring Break Getaway

We had an amazing experience. We booked 5 nights for a family vacation with the grandkids. The property was perfect. It had all the amenities needed, even towels for the hot tub, which the girls loved. The place is perfectly located in a nice quiet semi secluded area with access to the beach. The beds were comfortable, everything was super clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare simple meals, including. Cupboards of spices. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to book again. It’s perfect.

Simply Amazing

The owner has thought of everything to make her property a welcoming place to stay. From heated floors in bathroom, to fully stocked kitchen, there was not one thing I felt needed improving. Beyond this, from the patio overlooking the water, to the hot tub, to the seats by the water waiting for us so we could enjoy our morning coffee by the water, this is truly a wonderful place.

Such an amazing stay. Place was clean and very beautiful. Close to the ocean and had some waterfront as well. Highly recommend. Me and 4 buddies stayed for 2 nights for a relaxing bachelor party and it was everything we expected and more.

A stunning and well appointed guest house.

My wife and I have rented around and about Tofino for years and I can honestly say that we have never encountered a rental so considerately and completely appointed as South Swell! Best stay thus far

South Swell was the best place we've stayed in Tofino. Considering that we've vacationed there numerous times since our honeymoon 32 years ago, that's saying a lot. Our family joined this time and we all found the stay to accommodate all our needs, and then some. From the size to the location, and to all the amenities, we were delighted to have built lasting memories in Kelly & Bob's place. Speaking of which, the two of them greeted us and quickly responded to our requests...the communication was perfectly on-point. The home-away-from-home ambiance was clearly top priority; it made everything easy.This will be our choice every time our family chooses Tofino! Thanks so much for everything, Kelly & Bob!!

Very warm and welcoming unit. Everything was spotless with three large bedrooms. Kitchen was big and well stocked with everything we needed for making food. For a shared property it still felt very private and secluded. Would return!

Wonderful cabin

The property and home are so lovely and well maintained. Amenities are just an extra special touch, hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit. Also so well set up with dishes and pantry stocked for cooking meals, board games, puzzles, great signage and easy instructions throughout the home. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back.

Perfect on all accounts...

South Swell in Tofino is a perfect getaway for people wishing to escape into the wild natural habitat of the Pacific Northwest. The house is nicely appointed and it is within 5 minutes walk to beautiful Chesterman beach. I cant say enough good things about Kelly, the property's host and owner. We had some very complicated situations within our family with people arriving from overseas and the uncertainty surrounding this. She was very understanding and accommodating, which took a huge amount of stress off our booking at her place. We are very appreciative for all this. Thank you Kelly!

Great property and location

The house was fantastic, set among ancient cedars. The setting was very private with all the vegetation and the location was very quiet. It was a very short walk to Chesterman Beach - a fantastic sandy beach - a short drive to the miles of sand at Long Beach. The host is fantastic and very responsible. We really enjoyed our stay! Our hosts were very responsive and kind. The house was pristine and clean. The kitchen is so well equipped for cooking at home. And had sharp knives!! Honestly, more than we needed to cook comfortably. Brand new washer and dryer. Great hot tub! Highly recommend and will be back!
