Dislike: room thermostat was not working. We set temperature to 19 or 20 deg C but it kept showing ambient temp of 25-26 deg. We were too lazy to call maintenance so we just opened the window to cool the room even though it was winter. There was also an odour as u stepped into the room, smelled like toe jam/body odour, just by the entry way. Likes: within walking distance to shinagawa station. Highlight was u could eat breakfast at one of three outlets in both grand prince takanawa AND shin takanawa hotel (though the latter u would have to walk a bit via the back garden).

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was friendly and kind as well as all the people in Japan as a whole. The culture there and the food are very unique and you must have an open mind. The garden they have is phenomenal and they also had a life-size Santa and reindeer ice sculpture when I was there. I can’t say enough about this property.

Hotel is maybe 4-star because of the beautiful garden. If you want to get married, maybe it’s a nice place but not for business. Gym is non-existent. Had to go to next hotel and pay. No restaurants nearby. I ate from the 7-11 store.
