The room was very basic but the front desk person was very friendly and helpful. This Inn has rooms in 3 adjacent buildings which all have their own entrances. It is not obvious from the outside, where the hotel entrance is located. My Uber driver thought I had the wrong address but I called the hotel front desk and someone came out on the street to help me with my suitcase and the check in. The room was clean with basic amenities (shampoo/soap/hair dryer/extra blanket). I was a little concerned that there were no windows. There was a skylight but it was not clear how one would be able to access the skylight as an egress in case of an emergency. This Inn is adequate when in need of a place to sleep. There is a Tim Horton's and a McDonald's just one block away. The room was very quiet and the bed was firm. The flooring is new and there is a kitchenette. This is not a high end hotel/inn but the staff is very helpful and the room has everything one needs.

The hotel is in a very good location. I was able to walk to a lot of places, and there’s easy-to-navigate public transportation very close by. The room was neat, and the staff was nice and helpful. Also, the room was very affordable! I would stay there again!

The place is ok but this is not a hotel, you get what you paid for. The location is convenient though but the check in process is not that great, you have to make sure to contact the staff before you arrive to check in especially if after hours because they are not staffed like hotels 24/7, there is also no elevator so you have to carry your luggage. Though the staff there was helpful enough to carry my luggage, overall the place was decent, but if you are looking for a hotel like place, don’t expect too much.

It was ok for the night, we went for a concert. It does need upgrading and I didn’t realise when booked it wasn’t accessible. However the staff was amazing and helped me with my daughter and bringing her up and down the stairs.

The listing made it seem as if it was on the University of Toronto campus; it was not. The actual address was different than what was posted on Expedia and was difficult to find. When we finally found it, the staff supposed to check us in was “gone to get a drink” and his friend was waiting there for him. When he came back, the check-in process was okay but he rushed showing us to the room so fast that I felt like I couldn’t keep up. The room itself looked clean but I found a hair on the toilet seat, the bed was hard as a rock and squeaked with any little movement, the vents were filled with dust, and I could not get past the odor. We were there less than 20 minutes and checked out. We are very disappointed with this listing and feel as if it is nothing as advertised. The fact that I found this on Expedia makes me weary to book through this travel app again.

The bed was very comfortable (this was in the deluxe 1 king room) and the room was fairly clean. The linens were clean and soft. However, the air conditioner did not produce cold air. The windows open and let in fresh air at night, but that comes with being woken up by all the random sounds of a busy street outside your window all night.

Very reasonable rates in downtown Toronto

Was happy to have found the Dragon Gate Inn. The price was about half what other hotels were charging that week. Helpful staff and a good night's sleep.
