The inn covers the basics for a stay and is clean. I enjoyed the location the most, as everything you need (cafes, restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, tramway, etc.) is within walking distance; even the CN Tower is about a 40-minute walk. The transit system is very easy to understand and to use.

Great location - Dragon Gate Hotel

The Dragon Gate hotel was an excellent location in Chinatown, 30 min walk from the main square of Toronto. The building was older but the room was very clean. Super comfortable beds, nice shower and absolutely clean. Our train from NYC was 2 hours late, but the receptionist waited for us to arrive late at night. They were informational and kind. I wish there was a coffee machine in the kitchen. The price was low for this great little apartment

My boyfriend and I had a great stay here. You are close to everything you would want to be close to. Take the streetcar on the same rd and it takes you to yonge street. The cn tower and the aquarium are close and you can walk it while seeing everything else there is to see. The place was nice and cozy, and quite. The tv only had a few channels so i would take my firestick next time. The staff were kind and pleasant to deal with. I would most definitely love to stay again whenever I go back to Toronto!

Pros: walking distance to a lot of really good restaurants and popular spots: Chinatown (13 min), financial district (45 min), harbor (45 min). Room is really big and has plenty of space for a family of 6. We got the family suite. Has on site parking with in and out privilege for additional fee. But depending on which spot you get, it might be difficult to get in and out. A full size fridge is really nice for keeping water bottles cool. Cons: There are no clear signage for the hotel from Dundas St. If you are driving by, you will miss it. All of their towels had stains on them (bath and hand) Room was not clean. The room was infested with ants. We were killing ants every time we were in the room. Difficult to get service. The toilet paper roll was almost done when we checked in and it took half a day to get additional rolls. You have to find someone for service because there’s no phone to call. The room smelled like pot because the adjacent room was probably smoking it. The door between adjoining rooms should be sealed or make it into a wall. The hotel is suppose to be nonsmoking. Walls are paper thin. You can hear everything and everyone around you. This location also has a lot of homeless people and pot smokers. Need to bring your own toiletries because they only give you a few packets of shampoo and a few small soaps.

Ants in room, roof leaking directly above the door so you were dripped on when trying to enter. Lots of homeless people around the property

I was initially skeptical after reading some of the reviews, but our experience was pleasantly surprising. The room was clean, and the bathroom appeared to be newly renovated. The kitchen was small and a bit dated, but it was tidy and functional. The only downside was the loud AC unit, which made it a bit difficult to sleep so we didn’t use it at night. We stayed for three nights, and it had everything we needed. It's not a five-star hotel, but it was comfortable, and I’d recommend it to young couples looking for a short, affordable stay

It was terrible. I signed up for a private bathroom and then when i was checking in, they make you pay a 200 dollars "safety deposit" and after that they told me that i i needed to share a bathroom "Am I okay with that". When i asked if i had a choice they said no. Turns out the shared bathroom was IN someone elses room. Which was a terrible situation. The room itself had a door to the adjacent room and I could hear the WORDS they were saying including how annoyed they were that i had to use their bathroom. They also were talking until 4 am, wi and started talking again at 8 am so i got a total of about 2 hours of sleep.
