This was an absolutely dreadful experience filled with red flags and scam alerts. It started with a last-minute call informing me that my reservation had been changed due to renovations, moving me to a new location in downtown Toronto. Despite their apologies and promises of a better location, the problems quickly escalated. The original price of $162.90 for one night was suddenly increased by an unexpected $99 cleaning fee, pushing the total to nearly $250. After an hour-long, frustrating call with their so-called "support team," we settled on $200, but they also demanded a $300 refundable safety deposit, which felt suspicious due to their repeated emphasis on its refundability. This raised my concerns, especially after receiving a shady email link requesting personal and credit card information, which my email flagged as a scam. Researching further, I found numerous one-star reviews warning that this company often doesn't return the safety deposit and cuts off communication afterward.
Despite my frustration, I eventually agreed to pay the $200 for the night without the deposit. However, the nightmare continued when I received a call at 11:30 p.m., waking me up, to say the e-transfer I sent was to the wrong email address due to their mistake. Overall, this was a terrible experience filled with deceit. I strongly advise against staying with these scammers, and if you do, never give them a safety deposit—they won’t return it.
