The Hotel location is great. The lake is so beautiful. The hotel building, room size and breakfast are great. However, I was charged 600 Yen for the additional tax. I am not happy about the room floor (assigned the first floor) and the service did not agree to change the floor location.
This hotel was excellent. The view was perfect. We could see the fireworks from our room window. The hotel had 2 onsen and the upstairs one was spectacular! Buffet was great and there’s lots of amazing food options along the street. Overall, breathtaking as a hotel.
The hotel lobby and onsend is renovated. However the room is poor maintenance. Still using 80s key room. Shower is olden day shower type. Room is centralise aircon. When enter room is stuffy. Staff is friendly however not all English speaking. Buffet spread overall is ok.
Luxuriously appointed hotel. Slightly aged but still well-maintained. The room felt decadently large after all the cramped rooms in the cities.
Quite a few of the staff are able to speak decent English and there are Chinese speakers as well.
The lake view is gorgeous and we were able to enjoy the nightly fireworks without braving the cold weather.
The buffet breakfast and dinner had a good spread and is about the same every day.
Have to say that the shower in the room is better than the ones in the onsen which are prone to have sudden fits of differing water temperature. But we are there for the onsen after all.
Family friendly facilities , indoor play area for young children . Public bath is clean and comfortable . However , it seem overly crowded with tour groups checking in . But space is adequate for all. Half board dinner seem pricey but reasonable varieties . Was expecting Jap hotpot set dinner instead of buffet , kind of disappointed in that .

We were very pleased with the location, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful everywhere. The building isn’t brand new but it’s well kept and clean. In fact I was expecting something a bit more old fashioned after looking on the Expedia listing.
Overall a very nice time with a beautiful view of Lake Toya wherever you go!
Nice, huge hotel with adequate service & amenities. Please pay extra attention on your chosen Breakfast and Dinner timing, as efficient as their culture, you are expected to come within the timeslot.
Nice view of the Toyako, taxi are available upon request to explore the area.
Not much tourist as described in other review.
Have stayed in many ryokans in the past hence was pleasantly surprised to find this ryokan modern and new! The lobby area was really modern looking and check in was a breeze. The Japanese style rooms were also very spacious. Our package was half board, so we had the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast. Both meals were decent with a good spread of food to cater to different palates. Great hotel!
