We loved the fact that it was just across from the train station and a 3 min walk to the mall. The room we had was quiet and a bit more spacious than the usual rooms you get. The breakfast was mostly hit than miss.

Everything is "almost perfect" in my book including staff's politeness, excellent location in front of train/bus station, cleaness and comfort room, not to mension the outstanding breakfast. I would've given it a perfect 10 if they could change the stingy 16:00 check-in time a little earlier. As a city hopper like me, all I need when arriving a new town is to relax in a cozy room as quickly as possible, but instead, I literally became a poor 'drifter' due to the late afternoon check-in time policy.

Located right outside the JR Shin-Takaoka station, I had booked my stay here due to typhoon Hagibis as the Shinkansen to Tokyo has been suspended. After staying one night I had extended another night. The room was super clean. The staff were polite, prompt and helpful even though I did not speak any Japanese!

Well located between Toyama and Kanazawa.
Quite new hotel just beside the JR Shinkansen station. Good for those with JRRailpass. Only 10 minutes to Kanazawa or Toyama (end of Alpine Road) by Shinkansen, but much cheaper then hotels in the two cities. Room was small as usual for this class of hotel, but clean. Staff very friendly. Aeon mall 3 mins walk away. Only minus: The breakfast was quite basic. No juice, milk, fruit, corn flakes. But OK not to leave hungry. For just a night or two I recommend this hotel.

Bad experience, dishonest management
It is very rare to find dishonesty and bad customer service in Japan, however, this hotel is an stark exception. I would caution any travelers visiting the area to look elsewhere for lodging. Here are a few notes from my experience: It stated on Expedia that the check-out time is 11 am. And so I checked out at around 10:55 am. I was charged a 1080 Yen fee for “late checkout”, even though I was 5 minutes early. When I showed them the 11 am check-out posting on Expedia, they told me that Expedia made a “mistake” and that the real check-out time is 10am, and that I owed the money. They wouldn’t budge and offered zero apology. I felt this was extremely wrong and dishonest – since their listing is their responsibility, not mine. On a separate note, the day I checked in, there was a major snow storm, and the hotel was mostly empty. I got in early, and I was told to wait until check in time. The Expedia listing said the check in time was 3 pm, however, they didn’t do check-in at the hotel until 4 pm. When I tried to check in at 3:55 pm, I was told to wait. Then, at exactly 4 pm the receptionist handed the key to me. And so it seems that this hotel made mistakes on its Expedia listing. The staff seem robotic, and more concerned about following the rules than using common sense and doing right by their customers.
