Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting.
We really enjoyed the lodge and the common areas. The rooms seemed a bit more outdated but were still clean and a decent sized.
Pros: Beautiful location with stunning views (especially when Denali is visible)
Fire-pits in the evening were a nice place to gather, have smores, and relax.
A few short hiking trails (go up to the treehouse-beautiful view from there!), playground for kids, and just a very comfortable, mountain lodge vibe.
Cons: This lodge is in the middle of nowhere, so the closest real town is Talkeetna, which is about an hour away. The lodge offers shuttles for $10 round trip, and it's worth the day trip, as it's a very cute town but it's a bummer it's so far away.
Food. Expensive, limited offerings, and not the best quality. It was ok, service was ok, but when it would be nice to have more choices since there's really no other options nearby.
No Mini-Fridges in rooms.
Overall, we enjoyed this place and would consider staying here again if the situation arose, though we would likely choose to stay closer to Talkeetna or another town.
