About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Quaint village with four restaurants and bakers within a five minute walk.

2 bedroom, 2 bathroom gite with private swimming pool and extensive gardens in the perfect village setting of Tremolat. This vibrant village has 4 restaurants, a boulangerie, waterskiing, canoeing and mini golf all within a 5-10 minute walk of the property. Three ‘Marche Nocturne’ are also held in the village square during July and August.

This ideally situated gite has accommodation to suit couples or small families. The full and exclusive use of the solar heated swimming pool (open end May - Mid September) combined with the extensive gardens provides a beautiful, relaxing setting for those wishing to be in their own private space but close enough to walk to local amenities.
The gite has a double en-suite bedroom and a twin or superking en-suite bedroom , depending on your particular needs. All cleaning, bedlinen, towels and pool towels are provided free of charge. (Clean linen will be provided during the second week of a two week stay).

A fully equipped kitchen has all the comforts of modern day living with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster, washing machine, cooker, microwave and is fully stocked with kitchen equipment should you wish to do your own cooking. A dining table and four chairs ensure you can eat your meals comfortably inside.
The lounge area has seating for four people, a large flat screen TV has both UK Freesat and all French tv channels. There is free Wifi and a DVD player. A large range of books and DVDs are available to borrow along with a small quantity of games and puzzles. For the more energetic there is a Games Barn with tabletennis, table football and darts.

During the summer months there is the added delight of an 8 x 4 metre pool solar heated swimming pool and an extensive range of reclining chairs. The large parasol or the beautiful white acacia tree provides shade for those who like to keep cool.

The property is in an ideal location. A 300 metre walk will take you into the attractive village square with its Michelin star restaurant, Le Vieux Logis, Bistro d’en Face, café/wine bar, La Tartine and pizzeria. In the same vicinity there is a bakery providing fresh croissants, baguettes and cakes.
Another short walk will take you to Le Bassin Nautique where, during the summer months, there is the opportunity to learn to waterski or hire a canoe. A gentle paddle down the river will bring you to the beautiful village of Limeuil where the Dordogne and Vezere rivers meet. A pick up service will take you back to Tremolat if you don’t fancy the paddle back.
The Dordogne is open for fisherman and daily and weekly licences can be purchased..
During the summer months many villages have a ‘ Marche Gourmand’ where visitors and locals are encouraged to join together for an outdoor feast. Tables and chairs are provided and a wide range of culinary specialities are offered for sale. The evening’s entertainment is usually concluded with singing and/or dancing. There are three of these in the square in Tremolat each year.
For those who wish to explore the area by car a few minutes’ drive will take you to the famous Cingle de Tremolat which offers breathtaking views over the meanders in the river. A few minutes further on again and you can stop for lunch or dinner at the Auberge de Belvedere which offers a fabulous all-inclusive duck menu and also some of the best views in the area.
The small towns or Lalinde and Le Bugue are just a 20 minute drive away and offer even more restaurants, supermarkets and shops as well as a market one day a week selling local specialities.
If history interests you then the world famous, ‘prehistoric capital of the world at Les Eyzie’ is just 30 minutes away. The area is also known to have over 100 chateaux and there are a number within a short drive, for example, Biron, Castelnaud and Beynac.
For the wine connoisseur a 40 minute drive to Bergerac will take you into the wine region where many of the local vineyards offer tastings.
Tremolat train station offers an opportunity for the traveller to sit back and just enjoy the scenery. There is a regular train service to the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat which is just a 40 minute train ride away. Alternatively, a longer journey of two hours will take you into the elegant city of Bordeaux, voted in 2015 as European best destination.
The Spring and Autumn are particularly attractive seasons to visit for those who prefer a more tranquil holiday. The landscape is alive with vibrant colours, the days are generally warm and sunny but the roads are beautifully quiet for driving or cycling. The area is a paradise for the keen rambler, with a host of well signposted scenic walks.
Whether you are a Rambler, Fisherman, Cyclist, Historian, Wine Connoisseur, ‘foodie’ or Sun worshipper, this part of France has something for you.

Fabulous gite in a beautiful area
We had a wonderful week in Trémolat. The gîte was just on the edge of the village - a 2 minute walk to the boulangerie in the mornings. Lovely quiet location. Amazing pool! Lots of pool volley ball played by our family. Gîte was very well equipped. Would have been 5 stars if there was air conditioning as it was very hot when we were there and didn’t cool down much at night. Nonetheless the gîte is in a lovely location and close to amenities. Can highly recommend kayaking with Aquafun in nearly Limeuil. Also the treetop trek Aero park Perigaud was also great fun. The hosts were easily contactable if required and check in was a breeze. Highly recommend this gîte!!!

Fabulous Village
This is a great gite in a really beautiful village. It suited us perfectly having two en-suite bedrooms with very comfortable beds. The gardens are very large with a great in ground pool and excellent well equipped lounge area. There are a couple of restaurants , an upmarket hotel and Boulangerie in easy walking distance. But don’t expect a busy nightlife or shopping. We joined the village cafe for 2 e which has live music on Wednesday - it is a must for a very friendly night out with the locals and tourists alike. It had two food trucks at a reasonable price and the bar was exceptionally cheap. Virtually opposite the gite is the community boules and village hall and other facilities. If you like a quite rural life in a quaint Village this is a must for you. Easy reach of other pretty villages too.

Location, location, location
Everything was as expected with regards the accommodation. The location within a beautiful village was such a plus. We ate in the village most nights as the restaurants were just a short stroll up the road as was the bakery for our bread and pastries each morning. There were plenty of places to visit within easy driving distance and the lovely pool to return to. As the latter is heated by the sun it was a bit nippy in early June but was getting a bit warmer every day.

Lovely pool and gardens!
We spent an enjoyable week in Trémolat and exploring the surrounding areas. The pool was lovely and a welcome relief from the heat as well as a lot of fun for the kids. There is plenty to do for families within an hour’s drive (or much less), such as canoeing, cycling, Les Bois des Lupins, some pretty villages, the Lascaux caves, beautiful Sarlat and some castles. We had a couple of very nice dinners in Trémolat. The apartment was clean and generally well equipped for self-catering, although quite small. The only downside for us was the mosquitos. There are screens on all the windows and the back door, which were thankfully very effective at keeping them out of the house, but we were driven indoors from the late afternoons onwards as we were getting badly bitten. Other than that, the gardens are great and there’s plenty of space (including shaded areas) for the kids to play, as well as being peaceful and private. The owners communicated really well ahead of and during our trip and we had no problems at all during our stay.

Quaint Village
The owner Kim was fantastic. She was on hand the minute we booked. She provided us with details on how to access the property and everything to do with it. When we had problems getting there on time because of flight cancellation she was superbly supportive and helpful which helped to ease some of our stress. The property is on the edge of the quiet quaint village of Trémolat. Our immediate next door neighbour was friendly and made us feel as tho we already live there by telling us about the village night market and what to bring as well as other things in the area. The property is very clean and well equipped with a spacious garden and reasonably sized pool. I would definitely recommend this property to experience the Dordogne.

A lovely gite with an amazing warm pool in a picture-postcard village in the lower Dordogne.
As advertised. The gite is well equiped, enough room for a young family of four and a great base for exploring the dordogne valley. It has a large garden and a pool which is a godsend in the high temperatures. The gite is a 3 minute walk to the centre of Tremolat where we ate at the Bistrot and the highly recommended pizzeria which looks out onto the pretty square aswell as getting our lunch baguette and croisants from the friendly boulangerie. We recommend hiring a canoe from the village. Search out Peter!

Lovely place to stay
Just come back from a week at this property. The gite was exactly as stated and the pool was used everyday. Emma was there to greet us and even texted to say as the previous clients had left early we could arrive earlier than 4pm. Nothing was too much trouble for her and Max. We spent most of our evenings in the square which was beautiful. I cannot recommend this property enough and hope to be back next year

Perfect appartment in the perfect location.
We have just got back from an amazing 2 week stay. The appartment was absolutely perfect with an fantastic pool and superb outdoor space, perfect for those warm evenings with a glass of wine. The appartment is perfectly situated for exploring this part of France. Tremolat it self is a lovely little village with some spectacular views of the Dordogne. We can't wait to return.

Great Holiday - Great Weather - Great Location
We had a most enjoyable holiday staying in Tremolat. We found the gite comfortable and well equipped. In view of the temperatures during our stay we particularly appreciated the mesh over the windows which meant we could leave them open without insects flying in and this in turn kept the house cool and pleasant. The pool was a delight and, again due to the high temperatures, much used by us both. The large sunbrella at the pool gave some much needed shade and there was plenty of comfortable pool furniture. The courtyard enabled us to eat nearly all our meals outside in very pleasant surroundings with easy access to the kitchen. Emma and Max were very quick to respond to the minor problems we did have i.e power outage and WiFi interruption caused by a massive thunderstorm and it was reassuring to know that they were on hand in case of emergencies. We also enjoyed having a choice of restaurants and a boulangerie within walking distance - no need to worry about drink and drive. The local tourist office gave lots of information for walks in the area and were generally very helpful. All in all a delightful gite in a delightful setting meant that we had two superb weeks. We will return! Mike & Rosemarie Thomas

Lovely gite in a perfect location
We had a fabulous week at the gite in Tremolat. The owners were exceptionally helpful and always responded very quickly. The gite was spotless and with its beautiful gardens and pool is on the edge of a gorgeous typically french village- handy for fresh bread/croissants in the morning and drinks/dinner in the evening. Ideal as a base to explore all the lovely local towns and villages.

Comfortable accomdation in a peaceful village with the added benefit of a large garden and nice pool
Have just returned from two fantastic weeks in Tremolat ! The accommodation offered all we could have asked for. The two ensuite bedrooms made life very easy in the mornings! The kitchen whilst compact had all that we needed but with a large garden and great weather the bbq had much more use than the oven! The swimming pool provided hours of fun and essential for cooling off. Good internet access and a large TV ticked the boxes with our daughter ! The location is fantastic for visiting Chateau's, gardens, pre historic sites and just great countryside so many places within less than an hours drive. The village is totally French and offers two bakers within a few minutes walk ...the one slightly further away did get our vote! Several restaurants and you can walk to the river within 10/15minutes where you can hire canoes etc I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends , family or anyone else looking for a relaxing break in this part of France.

Perfect gite with swimming pool in great location
Had a wonderful two week stay at this great gite in Tremolat. Perfect for the three of us (two adults, one ten yr old). Had all the kitchen facilties that were needed plus a bbq outside. Separate ensuites was a bonus. The swimming pool was a massive selling point for us, plus couldn't believe the amount of garden we had use of too. Plus a table tennis table/dart board/table football in the garage too. Which was also a good place to store the bikes we brought with us. Off road parking in front of the property and only a couple of minutes walk to several restaurants and boulangeries in the village centre mean it is really well located. Pizzeria was a favourite for us. Great food (including traditional local duck dishes) and efficient service. Tremolat is a great area to be based for exploring the Dordogne. Travel west to Bergerac and east to Sarlat and all the beautiful scenery, caves and castles in between. Emma and Max who managed the gite during our stay couldn't have been more helpful. Kim and Alwyne have really made the gite a home from home even including freesat which meant we could keep up with BBC's coverage of the Rio Olympics!! Thanks for a fabulous stay. Would highly recommend!
