Windrose Cottage is a wonderful quiet place to connect with nature, read a good book and share a romantic retreat! Windrose Cottage sits on 3 acres of spectacular ocean bluffs in the stunning Baker Ranch community. Guests can unplug and unwind at Windrose Cottage or curl up and enjoy the Wifi and new t.v.! Let the sound of the bell buoy lull you to sleep. Located just a few miles from Trinidad, Take a 10 minute walk to Baker Beach to go tide-pooling and enjoy a picnic. The uphill hike back up from this beach is a good work out and requires sturdy hiking shoes or take a short drive to one of Trinidad's more accessible but equally spectacular beaches, Moonstone or Trinidad State Beach.

The cottage is a quaint one room suite with an open floor plan filled with warmth and charm. Start the day sipping coffee on the sunny deck, taking in great ocean views and breathing the sea air. The queen bedroom is cozy, comforting and romantic with a gas wood stove, Queen Tempurpedic bed, high quality linens and great coastal decor. Enjoy a nap or good book in the comfortable recliner by the gas wood stove. Soak up some deep relaxation in the claw foot tub (w/ hand held shower) after some Redwood adventures. The kitchen is small but well equipped with a wooden butcher block island, gas stove & grill, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and blender. Sorry, no oven or dishwasher but plenty of quality cookware provided. Nice dine in kitchen area has a lovely table for two or open the French doors and dine on the deck. Visit local farmer's and fish markets to cook a great local meal on the charcoal barbecue.


This is a shared property with the lovely owners living in their separate main home. They welcome guests to enjoy wandering the 3 acres of ocean view property, sit on the red meditation bench and soak up the serenity. There is a large Native American inspired sauna that guests may sneak a peak of but are not permitted to use, sorry. The owners are very friendly and will respect guests privacy and asks guests to kindly do the same. Don’t miss out on this wonderful one of a kind vacation cottage. A real Trinidad gem!

I guess we're still connected to the Windrose but we actually stayed at Lufenholtz Surfside and the view was amazing. The cabin was clean and comfortable for but I think might be a little cramped with more than two people though the separate bed and half bath might work well for some groups. The deck was wonderful to hang out on and the hot tub another bonus

Postcard perfect location
Absolutely stunning location that is not really accessible unless staying here. Perfectly central to the main Redwood Forest National Park and attractions which are an hour or so drive north and south of the property. There are stunning beaches right at the end of the road too which was an added bonus. There are large redwoods around the property and outside the kitchen window too which was another nice surprise.

This is a lovely place to stay. Very quiet and beautiful. It would be easier to keep the inside of the cabin clean if the Guest parking area was graveled. Otherwise great.

Quiet Weekend Getaway
We had an amazing time staying at the Windrose. It is in a very quiet area, perfect for decompressing for the weekend. The fireplace is an awesome addition to this cottage. Would love to come back and do more hiking in the area.

Comfortable cottage along the coast
The Windrose Cottage was a comfortable, quiet getaway. It is the perfect size for a couple seeking a cozy retreat, or a solo traveler looking for solitude. Its location is a convenient homebase for the Redwood National Park, or for exploring the coast. Trinidad is a quaint coastal town with a good coffee shop, grocery store, and local food options. Eureka is accessible if there is a need for city necessities, but the cottage has a fully stocked kitchen. The fireplace is easy to control and heats the space adequately, while making for a relaxing place to sit back. The bath is a treat where you can melt into the warm water while looking up through the sunroof and through the trees. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean, and all the common amenities were in good working condition. We didn’t get to use the porch due to weather, but we did get an exciting visit from a banana slug. Out the back is the owner’s house, and while you do have to walk past it into what is essentially their backyard, you do have access to the benches that overlook a stunning view of the ocean. We sat there for hours watching the sunset. Going to the beach requires a short hike and the return is quite steep, which might be a problem for some. The beach itself is scenic and sandy with a rocky section full of tide pools. Overall, we were quite satisfied, and it was exactly what we were looking for to quietly ring in the new year. Thank you for the restorative vacation!

Loved the bungalow and the location!
Beautiful, warm, and inviting. We only had one problem with the accommodation. The bathroom, while pretty to look at, the tub was disabled due to water restrictions and the need to not fill the tub. The problem was that to shower we had to sit in an empty tub and use a hand held sprayer to clean ourselves. This was most uncomfortable to use. If it had a stand up shower head with a curtain and rod around the tub it would have been much better. We both shower daily and this impacted our stay. Otherwise we were very happy with everything else. Thank you so much!

Gorgeous and funky
We loved the area so much. What an incredible neighborhood. We got a kick out of the cottage with the set up of the place and the chosen decor. Everything was clean and the location is perfection. Bed is comfy and the fireplace is a nice touch. Didn’t love the tub too much as it does not have water pressure for the hand held part. We would stay there again.

Perfect Coastal Cottage
We have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals but this one is now a favorite. I think the location is even better than described! The neighborhood was gorgeous with incredible redwoods, hydrangeas etc… only a few beautiful homes on large properties - peaceful and beautiful and right above the ocean! We used the viewing area with benches a few times and got great photos of the sunset and night sky. The cottage itself was cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The gas wood stove heater kept us warm and the bed was perfect. We made breakfasts in the kitchen and enjoyed dining in some great restaurants in Trinidad. For a little town, they have so much! Galleries, shops and beautiful beaches! We will be back!

Wonderful Midweek stay at Windrose
We had a very nice stay at the cottage. It is well appointed, clean and in a great location. It fully met expectations from the description. We actually spent most of the time out and about, exploring the area, since we really had only two days to see the many natural features around the area. Redwoods and ocean would allow for many days of adventure in the area!

Lovely property
The cottages, well appointed, and in a great location. The beautiful view provided in the listing is there, but you have to walk around the owners building to see it. It’s not a problem, and the view is great, but I did not expect that element. All in all it was wonderful visit.

A very nice retreat for a couple
The cabin has everything you need. It was clean, with well equipped kitchen. Property is located above the ocean and the view is gorgeous. The standalone bathtub is very stylish, but require some attention when taking shower to prevent water splash to the floor.

A stylish stay in a whistle-stop town that has a couple upscale spots nearby, including a Japanese "tapas"-style restaurant next to the motel and a wonderful coffee roaster only steps away. The motel is spotless and cleverly designed. They deliver a delicious breakfast item of choice to your room.
