Best motel ever!!
Blue Water is one of the best motels I've ever stayed at. Lots of quirky fun decor items, and modern practical ideas. The whole makeover of the motel is fresh, fun and totally welcoming. Pool is great too. Has a coffee van at front of property that opens early ....... good coffee and fresh pastries daily. We will definitely stay here again but will make it at least two nights next time. Looking forward to enjoying the whole vibe in the near future. 💫💫

The motel room is very retro, funky, beachy, just as the pictures show. It has been remodelled and everything feels fresh. The swing out window with bar seating is very nice. The motel is a short walk from a beautiful beach. Really lovely spot for our overnight stay!

I booked a last minute stay at the property and it was great. Being a ground floor room which I was able to park near made it a lot easier travelling solo with kids. Having the coffee van on site was really convenient too. It’s pretty far from the main Kingscliff shops and cafes but it’s still a very nice area close to the beach and very walkable. The communal kitchen was very handy. I would definitely stay here again and it’s great knowing that pooches are welcome too!

Nice Theme, but Walls Are Too Thin
We stayed at Blue Water Motel and, given the high rates, expected a decent motel experience rather than 5-star luxury. The price seemed to reflect demand rather than quality, possibly due to nearby Mantra or Peppers on Salt Beach being booked out. The motel has a charming theme, with friendly staff and an easy check-in, even after hours. We liked the thoughtful decor touches and the big, fully opening window that created a nice bar-like vibe. The campervan serving breakfast was also a nice addition. However, our stay was marred by several issues. The mattresses were old and saggy, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The air conditioning, placed directly above the bed, meant we either had to endure stale air or have cold air blowing on us. The worst issue was the lack of soundproofing; we could hear everything from our neighbors, from late-night TV and partying to morning chats, which meant no sleep for us. Overall, we wouldn’t stay here again, even if it means taking an Uber to a more distant hotel if the nearby Kingscliff options are fully booked.

The seaside vibe attracted me to this accomodation as well as the presentation of the property. The provisions were great, the cleanliness excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The contactless check in / check out was simple and efficient, with no time limits on check-in which made arrival time flexible and a lot less stressful. A lovely place to stay.

This uniquely decorated motel offers an Instagram-worthy stay near the beach. The funky decor extends throughout, creating a cute and memorable atmosphere. Pros: - Stylish, photo-worthy decor - Excellent shared kitchen facilities - Free bike rentals (ask reception for codes) - Convenient water taps in kitchen - sparkling and still. Don’t try to use the tap in your tiny sinked bathroom! - Lovely outdoor courtyard with coffee van. The coffee is excellent. - Close to beach - Good base for exploring local attractions Tips: - Arrive during reception hours (10-5) for smooth check-in and bike access - Use SmartThings app for TV volume control if remote is finicky. We couldn’t get our volume to work with the remote. - Pool is unheated and compact - Beach can be windy; try Dreamtime Beach for shelter - just in the shadow of Fingal Heads if a NE. Minor Cons: - Self-service style limits staff interaction which can be frustrating if you are trying to figure out how to access things as it’s all via codes. - Some tech issues (TV remote) Overall, a charming stay with some quirks. Perfect for those seeking a unique coastal experience. Would definitely return, armed with insider knowledge for an even better visit.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This place was so lovely we stayed an extra night as we were not ready to leave. Love that it’s dog friendly ($50 extra and so worth it) Kids loved the pool. Beds were comfy. Beautiful beach steps away and a little further up is the off leash dog friendly beach. The free bikes they have to use were awesome to head into the main restaurant area for margaritas or a beer by the beach. Nice size in room fridge and plenty of cutlery and dishes for at home eating as well as a 24/7 shared kitchen to cook or wash up. We loved it and can’t wait to come back.
